For ppl want to know about this stroy.....

One of union player saw few dragon-helms in cave and, he asks help for defense.

We said him blocking cave's exit ASAP,but they entered inside already.

Fortunatly, cave's outsides was palled,so we tried to make wall with new char with hope invaders return.

[TIME(PM)(GMT +09:00)] status

[8:40] defense started. and call all unions and friends for walling.
[9:00] walling pally with chars complete but they didnt return;
[9:09] half of pally destroyed 1 of our ranger logged on.
[9:15] call all allies for counter.
[9:20] cave entrance blocking succeed. and start ranger's battle.
[9:25] lagging started, our old soldier find they tried to crash server,so attack light armored but not well controlled.
[9:30] many of wall chars dead and wall line become larged. so call other friends for more chars.
[10:05] allies arrived. and horrorble lagging start.
[10:20] first knocked out.
[10:33] entrance blocked character disappeared. and 1 invaders escapes.
[10:35] other 4 invaders 'disappeared same time' in next frame.
[10:44] last invader(lure character?) escaped and 2 of our warriors chased, but invader have much support inside cave. our chase team retreated.

Thanks allies, friends and unions for helping. if not, char wall would broken and the village destroyed.
I didnt expect over 70 ppl comes for help, Thanks all helps from warrior to only 1 new char.
We couldnt succeed our bonus mission, but catch main defense mission. Congratulation alls.

(And I hope the magic 'World Stop' published to public like auto hearth. Omg....:( I didnt think of script(?) in lagging maybe they used when escape.
So what magic is best for defending six ppl invaders not to call 70+ ppl everytime. )

painhertz wrote:Eh, what I think a lot of you are missing, (I'm looking at you Birg) is that for every Dis/Korea fight with lag scripts and wall jumping and blah blah blah there are 400 of the rest of us off doing our thing without any bug using and having a fine old time doing it. It's sort of this elitist perspective gained apparently only from running or being a part of one of the top 3 factions that disallows you guys from seeing the forest for the trees.

If Birg "stepped back from the abyss", forgot for a moment the grandeur of running a HUGE, talked about, faction and just hermited and did the thief/robber thing that I do, he'd soon find out that the game is every bit as fun as it ever was. You just have to stop having that macro view that every player is affected by wall jumping, chat attacks and crap like that. We not only aren't affected but really don't care.....

I don't doubt that. One comment I wrote yesterday is adressing exactly that. It is just the big factions represent this game on the outside and also I always used to be in one of them too so it is kinda my point of view to observe them.

@Ramo, come on man you are better than this. Butthurt? Really?

@Nyarl, yeah get on Skype dude. Miu is missing you too.

WarpedWiseMan: There are tons of towns through the hearthlands playing exactly as you say, they just aren't on the forums trumpeting it because yeah, they're "doing" it. I think these Ainran/Dis vs. Winterfell type threads give people the idea that this is the primary form of gameplay going on in the game but it just isn't true. For every Ainran there's 50 other mid sized towns somewhere in the game doing thier own things with their own local politics and history and going's on. I know this because in my SG, I could tell you some of this history be it who owned certain nodes at certain points, towns that have risen and fallen, etc etc. You even run across towns that are bigger and better designed than the big factions and arguably stronger who just don't play into the forum drama and or the "Dis/AD/Koreans/Poles" Clash of the Titans. In summation, if youaren't finding the form of game play you want to have, you aren't looking hard enough.....

or you aren't creating it......

i can almost agree with you. . .

almost.

the selling point on this game is perma-death, plain and simple.

in W3 ICA was a hotbed of topics because of Permadeath.
in W3 IFO was a bustling virtual marketplace because of politics

first off, death meant something and you couldnt have a "alt army" as you do now. So people didnt steal/vandal/kill on the scale that's going on now for the simple fact that death meant something. sure I could lose my 450 UA main, but it's gonna take me weeks to get him back up, depending on what, if any, of my village/hamlet is left after peeps killed me and razed my village(via hunting me down or gettin me while i was offline) and during them "weeks" you were actually playing this character(hunting, crafting, farming. copying maps) so the back to origional status was never certain.
So now that you had actual penalties, but they were never certain, peeps didnt play this game like WoW. and the next thing they did was come together into villages. these villages allowed peeps to specialize for the greater good and these villages began to become SG voices so to speak. other hermits/small villages felt a motem of saftey in the shadow of the "SG voice" but not all the bigger villages agreed or whatnot. also some of the other smaller factions/hamlets had some fucked up since of recruitment (Tarn of Hotdog) but this all created drama and whatnot and the smaller factions traded with the larger factions, for the most part, which kept IFO a boppin and a hoppin.

in short, since peeps cared more about thier chars than they do now, the game thrived and excelled.

now i feel as i read through the forums, i'm reading a play by play of World of Warcraft battlegrounds.

now on top of all this. we got a bunch of Sad pathetic cowards blatantly cheating(allegedly). and these are just a few factions. but unfourtantly these few factions are basically givin a "how-to" manual to fuck up the server or local area or pvp. . . (allegedly) So why spend the hours upon hours, just to have some ass-hat come and cheat you to death via known exploits? If you havent seen any of this first hand PH. well kudos to you. I haven't eather, but then again i follow Avu's advice on village/hamlets damn near to a tee. but the forums are clogged with one thing or another with noobs and not so noobs dieing all the time. how much of that do you think it's "butterfly effect" from these issues?

looks like this thread is on the way to get derailed, like most other threads with dramas ;)

anyways.

120+ korean players online were not alts like someone accused somewhere ;)
(in fact ive seen both korean and japanese player population increase as of late, as well as total population growth (almost twice as much as before), and it seems to be proven with loftars distribution thread update.)
