Hm thank you Fobia, that is at least an honest answer and yeh I gotta go with Gunnar here that this has kind of sociopathic characteristics. But it lets me understand the mindset of certain players a little more.

@arhelog (is that correct? ^^), I find it to be very weak morals to say you do something because everyone does it. Should someone with strong characteristics not start going another way?

Also, while I really want to avoid blaming eachother who threw the first stone, but did you not kind of come into the game with the goal in mind to mess with us? We were just building our town, we never actively went after anyone, like at all...until the day you guys started attacking us.

So, your comment sounds a little like you blame the circumstances for the way you play, but I honestly cannot believe that given how your attitude was, even when there was no need to be aggressive or use bugs. You came to our town and other towns which basically were all peaceful and you started the wars that in the end led to a battle of the bug abusers...

Or am I missing a reason here you had for starting this entire storm? (And please don't say it was because Klaue, who had no relationship to any of us for years at that point, once massacred a couple of you guys in w2)

From what I can gather from a quick glance at the forums and threads like this one in particular is that 90% of the current hh population at least the forum frequenting one is that it's made up out of scum of the earth. People that once would have been made fun of ridiculed and killed ingame now are role models for the other would be scum. HH always had their kind but there was always a percentage of decent folk to oppose them and keep them in check. They would get away with raiding one or two noobs but those noobs the ones that did not quit always had a place to join and train and fight back. Right now? All there is to choose is flavors of scum of the earth if they will even have you and all they want is more scum.

Even if jorb and loftar come back and restart development and fix the current bugs the ones they know about because I'm sure for everyone that gets admitted there are several that are not mentioned, (it took you over a year to admit to lagging clients, brute forcing passwords and whatever else you fling at each other these days. The sever crashers and the like that you used even back during world 5 you still won't admit to or maybe I missed it) the game has no chance of ever being anything more than an exploit finding and abusing marathon and that's all because of who you are and the values that you do not have. And the first ones to find them will be hailed heroes by the would bes.

HH is dead and will remain dead unfortunately. The only way to save it is pay to play and/or restricted access servers.

This however is just not true. There is a much more complex system at work here with many types of players.

For example, I am a power gamer. I want to raise my numbers and I want to be efficient at it and be at the top if I can. But: I want to do that on my own. Winning, but not by making the others loose so to speak. So, I am sitting in my quiet little town, grinding away if all goes well. However, if you decide to mess with my peace and my number grind, then I will do what it takes to take you down.

That is the sole and only reason why we ever engaged in any aggressive playstyle and in that long lasting war with Dis. I am - with quite a few people from my old HnH gang - in a new game right now that also allows open PvP, however without any consequences. Griefing is also possible, not as much as here though. I have a clear policy that I will kick out anyone in ym guild who is aggressive towards anyone else in game (or at least get them to never do that again), but if I find someone griefing or aggroing my own guys I will fight them till they loose interest in the game or leave us be and I am pretty darn good at that. (I sometimes wish that game had more severe death consequences...but mostly I don't).

Long story short, carebear doesn't equal carebear just as much as I am sure that the aggressive factions here in HnH harbour quite a few different character types. Many of them I expect to be just opportunists, because nowadays it is simply more profitable to play this way.

Regardless of how you want to name the role you take it still fits in one of those two main categories. I will not mention in which one though to avoid causing a shitstorm.

Well, I would like to hear how you justify classyfying roles that clearly have characteristics of both sides you name into one of them only.

That does not make much sense to me and is of course an over simplification of reality. Some simple sociological theory suffices here to show that there is more than 2 types of peopkle in this world.

There is for example one kind of people in this world that tries to classify all others into 2 types ;)

There's two kind of people in this world: those who try to classify people on groups and those who don't. I guess you can figure out what group do we belong to.
