That's a normal side effect of overgrazing.

Taking a stroll around the SG today I've bumped into more people than I have the rest of the month I've been living there.
90% were new characters who were more than happy to have a quick chat, the others were obviously established characters.
Most interesting moment was yesterday though, when I was asked to please leave an area rather than agroed.

It certainly looks like things are working out okay so far, I'm somewhat skeptical too, especially as I've been livin in the area before this plan and have been foraging and resource gathering in the SG the whole time due to the amount of abandoned claims over decent nodes. Regardless of past history (I haven't played this world long enough to care) i think a peaceful SG where newbies can learn the game in a somewhat less dangerous area is a good thing... We just have to wait and see how things develop.

Disians should put on forum public HS, in center of this SG plus public village idol for old characters, if there is so peaceful you won't need walls around it:)

we're no robots, if there is no walls then it will be like 100 theft scents everyday we have to track
basically what you're saying is that we have to do 24/7 babysitting
we're helping to make a peaceful SG, not babysitting, please understand this

Then build roundpole fence around it, so you don't have to track every tresspasing scents?
And you don't have to babysitting, I am just curious how many people is there for real, I just don't believe your "newses", so I want to check it myself:)
If your intentions are so altruistic you should give a chance to move in people with old characters, many of them probably don't want to risk getting caught two titles behind your SG border and get killed:)

People are currently helping with the trading center as well. Some are going to take patrolling the SG and let guards know if something is going wrong; some people are moving their newbies to there and building villages.
Guess, once there will be developed villages, they'll take the lead of the SG and form their own police. Kind of interesting to see some potential in this kind of things.

seriously, w3 BN SG was like that without any written agreements or announcements, without any skype conference, some settlements without walls. it is rather dissapointing for me to see that you didnt have that atmosphere in your own village SG, nor in w3-4 AD, and proudly announce in public as if such were some kind of an achievement and something new and interesting that you have been planning for months, according to you. well, but it is probably important because *you* are doing it in *this* world, i guess. i wholeheartedly hope that "some potential" you talk about here is something at least noteworthy.

btw, i heard a bit of strange rumor, again, thru grapevine.

The SG is meant to be totally peaceful. Like we won't aggro random people on sight.

i heard the opposite thing happened lately when a newb was digging from NON-claimed land and got threatened.
i sincerely hope i was too drunk and didnt get it right.
you may wanna check your slave patrollers if they are loyally following your orders.

Why a peaceful SG is a bad idea.
I am not opposed to a global trade center though, just to the scum of the earth running it.

The low life has lost its appeal
And I'm tired of walking these streets
To a room with its cupboards bare
