@ArvinJA: Are you honestly going to tell me that the one post jorb made is clear and gives out a plan? If anything it's just a vague "yeah here's what the problem is and we're working on it. kinda. but i'm not really gonna tell you how, just that we are coding the new system"
And so many of you talk as if things are going to be changed.
Cobaltjones, you say "everything can be fixed with a little arbitration" except, where is it? Where has the arbitration been for one year? I mean honestly, why are you kidding yourself into thinking things are going to happen when the evidence lies infront of us all--that nothing is happening and nothing is going to for a long time.
And you say these issues only pertain to those playing currently? Like hell it does. What about the people who have played for a year? year a half ? two years? almost 3 years? Do they just not matter? Why do you think they've quit? Does their time playing the game count for nothing? I'm not allowed to give my thoughtful opinion? Do you think I just conjured my views up in a few minutes? No. I've been playing this game for a while now and I see how it works--rather, how it once did.
You see, I and many others see, (or once saw) something beautiful about this game. It was something different, exciting, fresh, complex. But, where is it now? What state is it in? No, jorb and loftar aren't fully to blame. Part of it is my fault, and so many others too. It's too competitive. The naivete, the stupidity, the complete beauty of somewhat carefree gameplay, that was fun rather than stressful. The wonder of the petty arguements and quarrels that we all had--the camaraderie too, all of it made the game great. It was those things that made the game so wonderful. I mean honestly, think about it: does the game cause more stress than it does amusement? You may think my gushing is just vapid bullshit but it's real. I see something to Haven and Hearth and I hate seeing it go to waste.
Except, the fundamental issue is in jorb and loftar's hands. Why have vaults gotten out of hand? Why has the game been exploited to wits end? The answer lies in the lack of development. This game isn't in an alpha stage anymore. How can you call something alpha when its just sitting and rotting, only given the defibrillators at near death and then dropped off on the side of the road again?
And no, this thread shouldn't be locked. That's bullshit. This is a thoughtful discussion and cutting off the roots does absolutely fucking nothing. Along the same vein, neither does shutting the game down for good. Perhaps I should take back my statement and rather suggest a hiatus, one where everyone can reassess themselves, the game, and their plans. I truly think that is the best thing to do, rather then perpetuate this sorry state.
