@Fobia: your clay was pure gold on each ocasion we traded it, I've used it wiselly to compete with best factions in-game and I believe Ainran (with its low-working-population) has won, or was at least close to winning in industry part until it fell apart :)

@Lan party talk: would need a lot of pizzas and popcorn and beer for it to succeed :)

As for on topic about server and people, I'm one of those that don't like PvP, but through last 3 worlds I realised, that some people live for it and I don't see it bad if someone decides to kill a noob. He just can/could. What we all mind is that everyone wants to play killers and while they are asleep, they are gods in illegal vaults. Since no one is taking care about it due to innactivity of devs, nothing can be done and all others are just loosing nerves, being impatient for 24h/day trying to catch such people. Bugs are used to catch such people, bugs were used and will be used, and even some third party people will start using them after they learn how to.

So as said, only some private servers with certain people can live in harmony. Or if you put non-pvp server, with central supergrid as PvP one with various bonuses inside, so many people would still need to go there if they wanted to get some goodies. Otherwise without control over population its just pure 9gag-fail.

Was Burgingham's post directed at me or did
i just step into a conversation? oh well!

In my opinion it's great fun to take on factions.
Destroying hermits and taking over little villages
are only things i do to feed myself. You can,
very well, trade with your neighbors, but when
they have nothing you would do more than open
a cupboard for, yet you would like nonetheless,
it becomes more efficient to take from them.
Leave their facilities for producing, and if they
do reach a tier that you would trade with, good
on them!

My most memorable moment, and possibly the
only time my hand was stayed, was when i came
across a palisade at the intersection of a river.
Inside was a man and woman, i convinced the
man to come out, and he laughed with me that
his wife was worried i might be a killer. I too
laughed, and saw her literally standing right
inside watching, and could practically see her
nervous face watching her husband's hard work
step outside with a stranger.

I promptly changed plans and instead gave the
man most of the gear off my back, along with
some curios.

However, a previous situation involving similar
circumstances... I was attacked by two people
outside their home, i fought them off and had
forced them back inside their palisade when i
decided killing randoms deserved a little more.
I talked them into coming outside with the keys
(Which was not easy as they were russian and
hardly understood me), and then butchered the
first, chased the other one down until his wife
came out of a house in a walled off area and
began begging me in english not to kill him.

Needless to say i KO'ed the man, used the keys
on the area his wife was in and killed her with
the man's B12 before returning and finishing
him off.

The difference? The russians thought i was weak
and wished to take my gear and kill me because
of that. The first group thought i may kill them,
yet chose to trust me.

There are indeed real people behind the screen,
it's just that i love to gamble and be good at
something... and it just so happens that i am
actually pretty good at killing people, does that
make me a sociopath? =o

This thread has taken a turn for the better. I have the urge to learn how the combat system works. NaoWhut, be my Yoda. ;)

"Kill or kill not, there is no try."?

i rarely have "real" issues with those who play "killer" and/or "thieves" when they are doing it for gameplay. (but ofc i get mad at them and yell or scream at them on the forums, but that does not always mean i do not accept their game-style. it does make things fun sometimes than having npc attacks that can be always stopped so easily.)

but i have issues with those who enjoy watching other players suffer on purpose, like, taking loot which is obviously useless for them, dropping them in water in front of the victims and laugh or give stupid words and tell how big their e-peens are. or those who dont finish off the victims and make them "appreciate" their act of just griefing instead of killing for a reason, they usually demand the victims of worshipping them which is totally retarded. or those who leave stupid runestones to purposely offend the victims even more, knowing how offensive itll be. or those who have to show off how "badass" they are by posting and boasting out with useless pics unless their achievement is political. (it is always interesting to see how faction battles are going, but pics or stories about some noob killing another newb or raiding inactives is nothing but pathetic.)
i guess they have such a huge inferior-complex about their real life peens or whatever for girls, they need someone to hug them in real and i find them sociopathic.

It would be interesting to have the entire HnH population sit and play in one room. A psychological experiment if you so want. To see wether in game behavior changes if the person you are about to rob sits right next to you and looks you in the eyes and asks: "Dude, what are you doing there?"

count me in! ill bring some umeshu! ... only if i can afford the flight.

I think such people either dont read this thread at all or do not feel like they should come here and say "hey, I am a good guy, look how good I am in text". Being kind to others is not the thing, that good guy would like to talk about (unless this guy is a bragging attentionwhore)

The problem with this community I've seen lately is that all of the killers and thieves seem to be the assholes you describe. When I first started this game, we didn't have this shit. Many of the most notorious killers and thieves didn't go around smashing stone mansions and ovens whenever they raided some noobs. Now, you have certain griefing factions that post pictures on the forums showing them smashing some noob's stone mansions and dumping all of their shit on the floor. They literally brag about it, which is just pathetic. Then they get hero worship from knob-gobbling underlings on the forums because they're pathetic and nooby and afraid of getting raided.

Hell, I've done some pretty fucked up shit during my time playing HnH, but a lot of what I see nowadays is a lot worse than anything I've ever done.

This is just further proof that this community is dogshit.
