Those are coordinates then kinda. Enders has a feature to point out certain objects to other players by alt-clicking them. When you run a different client version however you will not see a blinking object, but just those numbers. It was possible to lag or crash other players by spamming them, should be fixed now as someone pointed out.

Was talking to a guy yesterday and it seemed a rather strange thing for him to come out with, although we were having both language issues and 'oops, wrong chat' issues, so I was provisionally writing it off as a 'wrong chat' thing rather than trying to crash me.

I only read about this actual bug afterwards omn Enders threads. Looks like this particular order of symbols and numbrs you quoted there is indeed what crashed people if I got it right.

found out who it was and what faction he is attached to, at this stage im not going to make it public as i would like to try and make sure i dont get killed again.

turns out it only did the message once which i think just meant he was highlighting me or my friend.. possibly because my friend went behind a tree or rock.

Name and shame. I know not much can be done now if people hide into their hearth vaults, but if enough people join up, factions can be ran out of the game.
