Proof of Jorb bugousing.

I have no idea when the new mining update came out, and I'm far to lazy to check.
However before this update you found a node using rust root that was near 1000 X 1000
tiles in size, there was no nodes like there is now, and with that old system, there was
no supports or cave ins either.

Nothing wrong with being a bitter old man, seems that's what you've become anyway. :?

Me? Aww come on. I am not bitter at all. I am better than ever.

Well, I wanted to stop the botting debate because I thought it was fairly obvious where the difference between that straight line bot and certain other bots was. I also repeatedly said I only used bots I feel should be part of the ui anyway. I made suggestions about stamina drain being a move called "dancing" or something along those lines and fyi in Salem the devs got rid of the hunger bar and you can just stuff your face as long as you have food. So they kinda heard my calling I guess. Same goes for selecting farming areas and such. The farming system is just plain bad and the devs acknowledge it and want it changed.

Avoiding certain death through intended game mechanics however by exploiting positioning on a certain place of a tile (the bot just makes this easier, the thing I am complaining about is the exploit they abuse here) is something entirely different I do not approve of. This is basically an invulnerability bot.

Also, all of you should read Ewlols comment again on offensive and defensive use of game mechanics. We always only used exploits (after reporting it btw. this bot hasn't been reported by any of you) after the Russians had used them/similar ones first to harm us. How else to defend yourself if you want to continue playing and don't want to be a hermit noob, but just a peaceful big town? If any of you has a proper answer to that then I am eager to hear it.

There was a reason most of our original crew sucked at fighting. We simply didn't enjoy it. We never wanted to harm, raid or kill anyone. We used to be an economic super power and that was enough to keep anyone wishing us ill under control. Changes in game mechanics and in the mentality of the players (yes, bugabusing Russians entering the game) were what made it necessary to make somewhat questionable picks. If we could have chosen we would have never killed a single person in this game. If anyone "lols" at this they simply have no clue whatsoever.

to burg: If you really felt that certain bots should be part of the ui, rather than just that you used them to get ahead, you (or rather, the person who wrote them) should have made them publicly available, otherwise I find it kindof hard to trust you on this.

to D+A: how many trolls did you guys find per week before & after this new mining bot? I guess that botting mining has helped your loom q quite a lot..... (transiently I suppose, but noone has q200 plant fibres yet, i dont think).

to everyone: please, discussing who is bad because they use bots is not very exciting. i understand its a nice programming challenge, but don't pretend that it doesn't help you get ahead more. i'm not saying that you wouldn't have been/be on top without them, but they have helped you get more ahead + made time for you to do other things in game or irl (e.g. scout for resources early world while paving/building bw, mass food now, call your girlfriend, blahblahblah). i don't really care if you use them at this point, I know I can't "win" if I play the way I enjoy playing... just don't be hypocritical or spread propaganda about how your bot use is less bad/ other people are just as bad/...

i agree with pretty much everything ninja says, most grind can be made fun when you're chatting with your friends. When they are on i can be motivated to do stuff like bricks quite easily, without them i really struggle...

but certain recent developments/new people in the group i play with are making me consider whether the "open" village of specialists, with one or two people in each role can really work happily past a certain village size. Farmers and cooks just have so much grind/work to do to feed everyone. We tried to recruit someone else competent who likes farming to take part of the load, but it didn't work out, and those people are hard to find...

[btw I agree that the farming mechanics suck, but quality in general has stopped exciting me this world for some reason. Farming and cooking are some of the worst grinding parts of the game however, and obviously need to be redesigned.]

@gunnar, I'll answer you from my side, let rest answer their exp. I found 3 gold, 2 iron, 1 tin, 1 copper nodes without straight lining, 1 L5 troll + 1 L4 troll (my loom is still present from l5 troll hides). My tunnels (snaking tunnels) are about 20k tiles long. My 1 tile tunnel which is continuation is about 3k tiles long with 2 iron nodes (not mineholed), 1 silver (non mineholed) and bunch of tins (non mineholed).

Would deffinately agree on having advantage with some scripts from other players who don't have 'em.

The most irritating and frustrating part about all these bugs, bots and glitches is that they're all hoarded and kept so privatized (a good and a bad thing).

Some things, like bots, would be indisposable to me as a hermit just trying to play the game without the politics shitting things up, but because I am not a clever enough man or don't have the time to figure it out I'm automatically put at a big disadvantage when the game places me in the middle of a warzone and I'm getting attacked on sight because each side is assuming I belong to the other.
