I'mma have to teach myself that :?
sounds better than my tactic of just giving up and talking about goats and whatnot when outnumbered more than 3 to one

It's much viable than you think, Oddity. Even tactical retreats can give you an advantage that you will not get if you stood still. However movement combat is a matter offtopic and probably needs to be placed in another post.
If you keep focusing on the shadow behind, you will not see the light in front of you.

Being successful isn't just about hard work and succeeding, it is also about picking yourself up when you fail.

Oh, I know that running away and spending 5 IRL hours on a boat chase is quite viable. I just think it's ridiculous and boring. They need to get rid of the "no defense while moving" shit, maybe replace it with some other mechanic but I don't know what.

huh. Isn't that just one of the many tactics to slay a stronger player?
He who becomes the slave of habit,
who follows the same routes every day,
who never changes pace,
who does not risk and change the color of his clothes,
who does not speak and does not experience, dies slowly.

This is what frightens me the most about the current state of the world. There was a time once where there was a perfect balance between the social aspect and the pvp aspect of this game. It seems like everyone forgot this is a game, and games are meant to be enjoyed by all aren't they?

I think that is the main issue everyone should be talking about. What went wrong between world 3 and now that completely ruined the game for half the people that used to play it. There are some obvious answers of course yet everyone continues to argue and say their way of playing is "more right" than the other when we used to have both.

Two things. Developer apathy and Russians. The Russians brought about MASS-botting, MASS hearthvault abuse, MASS walljumping and MASS bug abuse (bread bug, server crashing, etc.). And jorb and loftar haven't restricted, punished nor curtailed them in any way.
