The easiest way to see this is as follows.......

Salem? Jorb and Loftar's job.

Haven? Jorb and Loftar's hobby.

The hobby isn't going anywhere but dammit, quit yer whining and let the dudes do their job, after all, I doubt any of you plan to pay their bills or put food on their table.

Then don't siege it. The answer is obvious. You honestly think that Dis is raidable too? I think not. So which is fair? Destroy the main feeder city of RoK while Dis stands in-tact? You are trying to equate the loss of one person and a plot by hacking to the loss of an entire gigantic city (Rabbits) (how many people even died)... except that doesn't work. With your arsenal of exploits and cheats and whatever else, Im sure you could have gotten an equal illicit counterattack. I suppose greed got ahead of your reason, then. Perhaps you should also reflect on how many times your group used an exploit in order to escape danger too... ferryman bugs, chat scripts...?

The best way to fix the game is to do away with alts entirely. However, impossible such a notion might be if you get rid of alts and make everyone play with their main you have corrected a ton of the abuses currently plaguing the game.

The next best fix is to get rid of the Russians and Koreans. I assume loftar could hack the U.S. defense systems to make it appear as though 'Merica had been nuked from these two horrible countries and then our retaliatory strike would end that particular problem and we could play Haven & Hearth in peace.

I would love it if there was a way to get rid of alts, I've spent some time thinking about it, and while there are things that could be done to make alt use more difficult, this only works for newbies who don't know how(/cant be bothered) to work their computers properly. I couldn't think of an elegant way of getting rid of them. Best thing would be if there was no gameplay benefit to having alts, but I really can't see how that could ever happen.

edit: ps all you older players are making me want to quit :(, luckily i am not playing the game to win, just to have fun with my friends who i have met while playing...

"You guys suck" would be sufficient. Threatening nukes when everyone knows perfectly well you won't go through with it just undermines the godfist authority. Not that it's got any left. You've basically become a scarecrow that crows treat as pigeons would treat a statue.

Which, indeed, is the philosophy that we have always tried to have. You will notice that, compared to most MMOs, we don't try to regulate your behavior in game.

But completely random punishment is the best punishment! When people know rules, they find loopholes. When they have no clue what will get them into deep shit they err on the side of caution. For bonus points, you should use an AD&D critical failure table to determine the exact nature of the punishment :P

The best phrase in this topic. Random (but deserved) punishment by the hand of almighty god of HnH is the best way to make game interesting even for noobs and make top factions be aware of consequences.
