i guess my thought is, how much of your "baby" would be taken away if you gave the mods limited nuke powers?

kinda like 75% of the mods have to agree on what village or villages gets nuked for flagrant abuses to the game, if they cannot come to an agreement, the targets(s) stand. would you all be giving up so much "intellectual property" by leting a group who cares about the game, quasi police it while your working on salem?

i understand that this is your game, hell we all do. but there are peeps here who would sign just about anything to have a chance to help you. not only cause we like what your doing and how your brain thinks on gameing concepts, but because H&H is so damn unique that there really isn't out here in MMO land like this.

Hell i would be willing to sign almost any contract stating, that no matter what i contributed to this game, you will always have sole rights to anything I "produce"

Just give me the nuke button. . . on better thought, do not give me the Nuke button, i dont want that much power.

Think you answer your own question here. Those kinds of power would cause a lot of drama (for the devs) no matter what the people having it would do.

Can better let Jorb nuke shit randomly now just to show people he can and still might when you fuck things up. Used to keep us in line enough in the past worlds.

i agree that having that kind of power for one person is too much, but if all of the Mods had to have a "council" descision(like 75% yay or nay) you still think that wouldn't work?

i mane some of you mods are arrogant Asses, but others Really want to help and flourish this game and community.

I think you're assuming we are far wiser to the game and what takes place in it than we really are. There is absolutely no way for any individual or council to evenly or fairly assess the cities and players of this world to an extent that would permit us to pass judgment to that degree upon them. Some extreme cases are made public but far more of equal or greater weight are silent.

discussing punishment for this is pretty silly. mechanics need to be addressed that allowed it to happen so that it's not an option. same thing with the chat bug. changing things so that it is no longer possible is the only real solution. threat of punishment will not stop people from doing anything, nor should the devs be required to punish anyone. if nobody abused bugs, poor game mechanics, etc for fear of punishment then none of those issues would be addressed. this is still an alpha, remember? it's not a finished game, you are all here to test, the fact that it is enjoyable is a nice side effect.

sincerely,

p.s. the fact that they don't have a lot of time to address these issues is the real problem here and it doesn't look like that will cease to be a problem anytime soon. feel free to discuss things that need to be fixed. it's possible that some of them can be addressed in a relatively short timeframe. getting emotional and throwing blame around and demanding nukes and calling each other butthurt or bagouser doesn't help anything (although it does make for some interesting threads sometimes, frankly it's a bit tired).

Scaring people into behaving is needed precisely because devs don't have time to address actual issues. But it doesn't affect me either way, frankly I just want nukes for the drama.

If you think that the lingering threat of almighty retribution would at all change how people behave in game then I think you're sorely mistaken. Sure it sounds good on paper, but in actuality I doubt it would effect much at all.
