You make it sound easy. It never was, and never will be. I don't like doing it, and every time I have done it there have been unforeseen consequences of a more or less dire nature. The prime directive exists for a reason, and I am extremely hesitant to break it. If the game is broken then fine, scrap whatever is broken, fix it and move on, but I am extremely reluctant to meet out punishments. Punishing people who 'slpoit rules that are in themselves broken feels very much like shooting the messenger.
Do you remember what happened the last time I intervened in the development of the world? We got the whole dzorby anal-friends discussion, and that discussion had some merit as much as I don't like to admit it. People like yourself would have an extreme advantage in that I would actually read and seriously consider stuff/sploits/bugraids/HVs you sent me, something that is not as certain with people who aren't oldtimers, people who don't express themselves well in writing &c&c. Whatever justice I do meet out would at the end of the day be an act of arbitration, which is extremely close to the word 'arbitrary'. Perhaps burgingham could recount a tale of what it feels like to be on the receiving end of (real or imagined) dev injustice?

Also, I make no secret of the fact that I presently consider the Siege mechanics unpoliceable. If I believed in the fundamental integrity of the game's mechanics I might be more inclined to punish the occasional transgression against that, but I don't.
That being said account theft certainly pushes the envelope. I was certainly tempted to start nuking things, and we did at least look into the matter somewhat.
Idk. I see where you're coming from but I'm just not convinced that dev intervention is any sort of a solution.
