Either way you are screwed. 24 hours is not very long for 1 or 2 people to fight off a dis raiding party, let alone try to open the gate and get away before they notice and kill them.

I can tell you're new so I will explain: You DON'T fight back. You get your sh*t together, as in load up as many valuables as you can on your characters and alts, and log out for a few days. Let them come in, take what they want, and go. Then you come back, see what you can salvage, and make the decision to either stay and rebuild or leave for greener pastures, the latter being safer than the former.
