Look at the thread that has the pictures of all the forum users and you can understand why so many of them shun society.

whit a normal real life you cant survive in hnh.
surrender the idea and find your way to play the game (draw around the world, or map it, build a farmer alone somewere, explore and chat randomly, use the game like an antistress) but dont play the game how it was supposed to be played. its useless and sad.
there will be always someone with less real life than you that will use theyr cock on your chara killing him for lolz. not everyone have a girlfriend afterall, so let them boost the stats all the day and choose how you want to spend your time.

With that much taxation there better damn well be socialism going on. My favorite villages have all been dictatorial with a benevolent dictator properly allocating all resources to their best and more fair uses but it's easy to imagine why these are hard to come by.

I've always wanted to see a capitalist society emerge but the game really doesn't support this yet.

Suddenly real life means nothing...

I might be able to contribute as you're one of the applicants I had the pleasure of talking to. You applied as a "weekend" player, am I right? I'm sorry if me turning you down caused any harm to you.

I'm just a humble player with no means of protecting myself hence bringing over someone new who actualy "has a life" is quite a threat as such person doesn't value the in-game things as I do. "Don't trust people unless they would loose as much as you would and not even then" - something I keep reminding myself of every now and then.

Another point of view is the amount of work done. It would take more time to explain what actualy has been done during the week than doing the "weekend" work itself.

When I was recruiting I had to create certain filters to avoid people like ssoalreaver or other trolls. Playing on daily bases was among such filters.

What is this "RL" thing people speak of? I don't understand.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

I don't really see how online gaming is less "real" than anything else. Everything in life is all atoms and electrons one way or another when we get down to the basics.

Just do whatever you enjoy, and if spending time on some activities don't leave you with enough time for certain others, then prioritize. Don't whine that some nebulous and unchangeable "real life" is controlling you.
Once a man has changed the relationship between himself and his environment, he cannot return to the blissful ignorance he left. Motion, of necessity, involves a change in perspective.
