How do you plan to verify peoples combat stats? also i was interested in the question someone asked above which I dont think has been answered: Is it going to be a straight spar or are frogs/objects trees and running going to be allowed? Im thinking a straight up spar but i have no idea what your arena looks like since i have never been... im just thinking if people were running around in a large area it coud get very disorganized.

Also are you guys allowing known enemies and KOS people to attend or will they be jumped?

Well, we will be going mostly by what people say, if you get punched for 70 defense, then you would know something is up and you can ask one of us who is running the tournament to check his stats. This would be done by getting them to punch us at full def/attk and we can work out the rough UA/MC from there.

Just a note, people who lie about their stats will be punished ^-^

If we are to be doing a tournament, I think the spars should be held in the arena, Frogs and other objects are allowed, unless the community sees any reason why they shouldn't be included? and leaving the combat area will result in you losing, immediately.
IMO, Movement Kamberts is a viable method of combat, so it will be allowed. Due to timezones and what not, perhaps we will hold preliminaries and then announce a date for the top 5 matches or so? With regards to group/village matches, I'll still need numbers for this as well. Some of the spars I've seen go on for more than an hour, because it would drag on to long, I suggest having a time limit on the fights.

To those who are thinking about signing up, could you please PM me with your tier, I will need to make a list of who is joining and who is in what weight class. For the record, I will be entering Tier 2 or Tier 4, I haven't decided :D (perhaps both)

And Yes, the enemies of Dis/Ainran will be allowed to sign up for the tournament.

P.S You don't have to tell me your stats, just what tier you are entering :) Thanks guys and I hope to hear from you all soon!!

What about if you qualify for tier 2 stat wise but have absolutely no combat experience what-so-ever, lol, would you still have to fight in tier 2?

Not that i'm planning on entering, just curious.

You should enter, you might learn a trick or two to escape that crazed raider one day :D If you qualify for Tier 2 but don't have any combat experience, unfortunately all I can tell you is to give it your all :) It's free entry so nothing gained nothing lost :) Remember the aim is to have fun.

With regards to this, I'd be happy to help you out learning combat, just drop by the Apples for Oranges spar area or PM/Skype me and we can organise a time to practice together. I am not the best combatant, but I should be able to teach you a thing or two :) (this offer goes to anyone btw)

Well see i was wondering if it was straight up spars or not because you have divisions. if its movement based then even someones naked miner alt (high str) with a good sword would have a decent chance of eliminating people in the 600+ unarmed division. so why have divisions at all?

The other thing I was wondering about was the lower divisions.

I get the feeling that someone with 200 unarmed/melee would probably not have the strength able to do a sting large enough to get through 1400+ armour rating. So I think alot of high levels will just be entering their foraging alts and equiping them decked out gear/thanes to dominate the division meant for new players.

This is definitely not true. In my experience, yes sure, get a lucky sting while moving the opponent is dropped, but if your opponent knows how to fight, they're probably not gonna fall for those kinds of tricks. I didn't disregard straight up spars either, you're welcome to spar however you feel comfortable. With regard to armor, when you spar and you are MC, all I have to do is get your defense to about 30 and Valorus strike and this will almost always drop you in one shot, thus armor is needed. Depending on Str levels and such, we can determine what kind of armor is used. Obviously we won't be rolling out the Q140 Dhelms and Q120 steel plate, just some training armor, like leather or a CC and for the higher tiers steel plate and such.

I guess it's up to whoever is sparing to determine if they want to wear armor or not.

As for divisions, it's good to fight someone at least in your range of combat stats other wise the guys with 1000 UA will absolutely flatten you and I'm trying to give everyone the best chance of winning something :)

Thanks for pointing out the flaws, I tend to miss obvious details like this, keep em coming :) Right now it's time to sleep so if this post seems rushed I apologise!
