Yeah your first suggestion was my first thought as well, but I thought it would be too much effort for Loftar to code atm.

I guess a quick fix is to make it impossible to log out on hostile claims, and you can log in wherever you logged out (so if someone gives you permissions, you may then log out on that claim, and you can still log in there if they then revoke your permissions?)

But that makes it irritating to exile people from villages...

That leaves many many things unfixed. Just remove it completely for nwo, but then reset the world too because I might consider playing and don't feel like starting so much behind everyone else ;)

The only thing that should be altered then too is auth objects or we will have statue vaults pretty soon. Make them have no bounding box or even rammable.

Ramable would be fun - would make it so you had to protect them or at least keep an eye on them.

Since teleportation has been removed long lines of distant statues are maybe not so necessary :)

wow remove teleport.

i guess this means teleport back Hfire would be gone as well?


though i would Dearly miss that feature, i still concur that teleportin should go the way of the dodo

I would not agree with removing hearth fire teleporting but they should remove village teleport and cross roads for sure

... Mmm, Just wondering / loosely thinking ...

Think there is a little more to it than just disabling transportation to make things somewhat better.

- What if you login and your original location is blocked by some object. (login at nearest free place? - adds new/old problem.)
- - login near claim pole? If its not out of range?
- What if someone (stronger) traps you inside there wall.
- - abandon character and start a new one?
- ?

What about upping the teleport costs, to lower its useful range? (HF and Summoning should also be effected by this, or else it make no sense.

(Thinks: Anything needing more code than Dev's have time for will not make it at all. Anything simple ... is a big maybe ... which is always better than a definite never.)

HF teleporting is the much bigger problem though.

Upping costs usually never solves anything. People just grind till they are there, seen in brickbashers.

Well, the whole hf thing is of course not entirely trivial to solve. Make it indestructable and people will spam them even if they have no bounding box, just because they want to fuck with you. One could actually make a claim stake the new hf and up the costs of Yeomanry so it isn't trivial to get there. One might even think about the ability to port back to the claim stake then (this is partially ripped off from Salem)....or I recall a time when hfs could be carried.

For being walled in a lever mechanic instead of keys would be awesome, but well then I would be starting to ask for too much for the moment I guess.
