Only difference between an illegal vault and a legal vault is at least with an illegal vault there's the tiniest chance it'll get nuked. The legal ones are the ones u have to worry about

Can't resist ... So ... A ram cannot, not break down statues.
Might as well drop in my attempt:
- A statue can't be broken down by a ram. (or by anything else, exception: the game gods.)

So, what exactly makes a vault "illegal"? That it cannot be rammed? Have any of these illegal vaults ever been broken down by the devs?

An illegal vault is defined as an impenetrable fortress. This is usually done through the use of indestructible objects like statues.
It doesn't matter how difficult or time consuming getting into a place is. As long as it's POSSIBLE for a dedicated player to break in and raid your shit, your place is legal. If it is IMPOSSIBLE for a player to get in, then the devs just might delete your place.

Yes, they have. Of course they have. If they didn't enforce this SINGLE in-game rule, what would be the point of the rule?
