I mean I get it and at the same time I don't get why you did this Portgas. I get it that you are a pathetic little troll that sucks so hard at the game he has to steal accounts to get some success. I don't get however why you cannot think two steps ahead. What did you think would happen? You getting through with this kind of shit?

I know Loftar has a hard time deciding how to react in such cases and I get why. Every kind of punishment leads to further, unforseeable consequences which are not always positive. Still in this case something has to be done against people stealing other peoples vital informations and this client was labelled as safe and free to download for everyone. Sadly account and IP bans are easily to be circumvented. I am not even sure if it has been proven without any doubt that Portgas is the one who did all this. If it is then his account should probably be nuked and so the ones of his fellow villagers and the village too while you are at it (this is my personal opinion, not sure how wise this all actually is, but I feel it would hurt him the most. Well, or calling his mom). Just to show that there are boundaries nobody should cross.

Those kids are exactly testing that at the moment. To see how far they can go without the devs intervening. So while I understand how difficult it often is to carry out justice on in game matters it should be fairly obvious that what happened here goes too far and compromises the entire communities security. What if I downloaded that client on my mod account? These Portgas kids are dumb and only know how to run a couple of scripts, but once somebody with more knowledge and more wits tries this then many people are in serious shit.

I am not claiming to be able to see inside the devs heads, but the way I see it if people keep pushing the boundaries then the following will happen:
1. Jorb and Loftar don't have the time to deal with it in detail and probably won't let others handle such things in their place.
2.The game and the accounts and everything is starting to become seriously compromised.
3. The only way to prevent further damage without wasting hours or days of time is to hi tthe OFF button on the server until the day they have time again to fix HnH (maybe that would allow a small private server for us though in which case I even am all for it)

Then you truly achieved something great Portgas...but with your intellect or the lack of such you probably didn't think about this at all.

I think that people doing those things (that throw negative light on whole HnH afterwards) such as acc stealing, server crashing etc. don't really have the soul to care about anything else but their ass, and if the OFF button would be pushed, they'd simply find another game to bring their negative ions too and because of them even the last tiny bit of cool people left playing would be forced to eat shit and die with HnH.

Not sure if private server with invitations would help at anything but have little farmville until devs actually have time to fix broken things.

It's the info circulated on IRC. The offending code looked like this according to the people on IRC (his code might even be susceptible to SQL injections, I am not a script kiddie though, so I wouldn't know how to perform them in a systematic way).

I've been telling them ages ago that they should pull the plug if they don't have time to work on the game. I'm afraid it's too late, the damage done to the community by exploiters is too great to be reversed, and it will remain a cesspool even if the updates resume. This account theft thingie may be bad, but I think it's just a small glimpse of things yet to come.

Well, thanks to my programmer, he's come up with a full analaysis. The client is indeed bugged with a keylogger. The .jar file has a bootstrap. Basically, you log in as always, your password goes to a database. Which is what the russians are using to hack your account. It's a dirty trick indeed. Fortunently, there's a way to reverse the the hack. For those of you who actually downloaded the .jar file, you have to re compile the .jar file. This should remove it.
