Mvqulik is right in that there is no point in moving if we are just going to repeat the same thing all over again. But what if we do it a bit differently?
I'll report from the Gondor thread what I'm thinking of now...

You only need one initial corner post, then you just expand that baby as you get immigrants. The orange would be branch off walls that just run until they hit the other side.
You might end up needing a lot of bricks, but never all at once, just bit by bit. That makes it more suitable to a town that constantly aims to expand. Also, people cant bash a wall and suddenly have access to the whole of the town.
Other changes to Brodgars style... 25x25 plots is nicer I think. A good compromise between farming needs and density.
A 10 tile wide road running along with plots on either side would make traffic easier too. Trees could be planted in the middle on
a strip.
Why do all this again?
I think the town serves a niche. It's for noobish people like myself, or people who are bored of regular villages and want to hang around with more players. It's fun, relatively low stakes, and different. I don't think there is any need to be waiting for another world to keep experimenting with this kind of place.
I dunno. I guess I'm kind of like a pied piper leading rats off to 'drown' , but I don't actually want these things to keep turning out terribly. The above plan is something quite different from anything I've done before, and I don't think it's that ambitious in the fundamentals when you really get down to it. Combined with a
modest amount of secrecy that is still in line with the idea of a town where anybody can immigrate, I think it has a chance of turning our differently from the current Brodgar. If I didn't think that I would give up now and not suggest it.
I guess I might start collecting curios for trade and try and save up for bwall material. If anybody has access to a decent clay node or is willing to trade/donate resources for the above idea, that would be cool. I'll probably be back in Brodgar in the next day or so, still got a bit of traveling to do.
