Every goal, every action, every thought, every feeling one experiences, whether it be consciously or unconsciously known, is an attempt to increase one's level of peace of mind.

if you believe that to be so, but that's only labeling
the thing we aim for as Peace. Happiness could be
viewed as peace, but should it? It's like saying you
wanted peace of mind as an excuse for everything,
there is no one unifying thing everyone wants, if you
think there is, then you need to think harder, some
people find what you consider peace through utter
chaos and agony in your terms.

It's like saying you're the good guy; you may be the
good guy in your own opinion, but someone else
may have nightmares about you and wish you were
never born... and it might be a little kid that thinks
that.

If your actions are all only for a peace of mind, do
you find peace in knowing you have caused others
chaos? does that mean the first time you ever violate
another being's realm of peace you make your life and
theirs pointless?

No, i think not LadyGoo, but thoughts such as yours
can lead you to understanding yourself... sharing them
with others and listening to them can lead you to
understanding the world... better, at least

jorb wrote:When one adopts and understands this perspective, it becomes clear as sparkling morning dew on a well mowed lawn that there does not exist a clear divide between offensive and peaceful actions. Every action you do denies another player some potential action. In speaking with von Clausewitz, we can observe that combat, thus, is only the continuation of action denying by other means. If you stand on the tile I wish to plow, I can hurt you to make you go away. If, on the other hand, I can't attack you, then you have the means to permanently and irrevocably deny me particular courses of action for as long as you and your whims see fit. And, in this sense, every potential action is always offensive or, every potential action is always peaceful or the distinction is meaningless, whichever one you prefer.

Therefore, I consider peace as a point of a not-being-changed, being still, stagnation.
Also, anything related to changes can be considered as a violence. When interventing to the interrior of a building you are violating its original state. When you are shaving your face you already violated the natural grow of your hairs. When you are piercing you body, you are adding changes into it. When you are killing a chicken ingame, taking its eggs, placing it somewhere else you are producing changes and shifting the chicken from the state of the harmony it had before you intervent.

So here we go and let's sound it simpler: every action, every goal, every thought, every feeling one experiences is an attempt to reach a peace.
When your farm is hurt/damaged/things are stolen you try to get everything back to the point of the harmony. Therefore you work over getting everything back (violating the current state of the things) and trying to revenge (violate) the person who caused this. Like Newton's motion law, saying every action causes the opposite action. Every goal in this game is trying to achieve the stability, harmony. You are increasing you production, since you lack of food/curiosities. You are increasing the number of allies, since enemies are outnumbering. You are killing/raiding for fun, since you lack of it (feeling the boredom). You are thinking over things, trying to get to the point when nothing will bother you. Yes, your actions can be considered by others as violent, whereas you are trying to reach your own state of the peace. The child who might think I am a monster in reality can be the one treatening other children or killing animals and birds.

"Never explain-your friends do not need it and your enemies will not believe you anyway."(C)Elbert Hubbard

You know, north American indians were using simple traps for bears: they were suspending a stone, covered with honey, on a rope. The rope was attached to a tree high enough that the bear could touch the stone but couldn't drop it down. Once a bear comes close to the stone, it hits the stone. The stone shakes and eventually hits the bear. This agroes the bear and he keeps hitting the stone. So the stone gains the additional energy, hitting harder and harder. Eventually, the bear dies.

Probably, the heaven and hearth community is this bear. We are making bots/developing clients/killing each other just for fun and nothing else/using bugs and exploits. More we were doing it, worse bugs were discovered, more bots were done, more people are trying to exploit.

This whole fight seems like LadyGoo and alex lashing out at others cos they can't fight Ainran. What's next? Attacking nubs without palisades? *waits for another topic*

As of now you have no proof except your own
people naming your own people that have black
lines for names =p

That's what I thought as soon as I saw those screenshots

But, Goo, once again you're labeling your goal,
but you're not looking at it from another point
of view as i suggested... You're trying to explain
to me your theory because i have not agreed
with you, and assume i simply do not understand,
but you have ignored what i have said. Quoting
countless others and finding other sources serves
minimal purpose when they don't mean the same
thing...

What jorb was saying is that violence is no different
than peace because through peaceful actions you
deprive others of (as you would describe) their
"Peace" because you have used things that they
can now no longer use, and violence denies someone
something they may do to ascertain their "Peace"

Newtons "For every action, there is an equal and
opposite reaction
" does not fit where you put it
because you are saying that it's similar to hearthlings
always attempting to overcome the latest trauma of
their time... yet a simpler and far more effective
comparison would be to compare that to a line of
ants. They walk on, you put something in their path,
they walk around it and keep going.

The story of the bear is probably the most fitting in
your words because you're saying that the HnH community
is killing itself through it's own rage... but even then...
i don't see that, the bots, and bugs are not used by
a lot of people... Though... you can only speak from
what you see, so that's why you've said it.

Saying it's bad to kill another hearthling directly
contradicts your own previous statements and usage
of quote. Jorb said that
it becomes clear as sparkling morning dew on a well mowed lawn that there does not exist a clear divide between offensive and peaceful actions. Every action you do denies another player some potential action.

so, killing in game is no different than
When you are killing a chicken ingame

The thing is, you're looking at all these things through
one opinion, you have to open your mind if you want
to fully understand...

Maybe you just want time to stand still for a little bit,
which would justify your "Peace". I understand, it's ok.
