Hacked Client

I have some villagers in my city who ran away from another group.
They dekinned, travelled over 3 SG's and lived here for a day or 3.
Just today, someone put down some runestones, and KO'd one of them, claiming to be one of those exact guys, speaking of the exact names and what not.
The villagers claim they have a hacked client that can track people you've seen once, without scent, even dekinned.
I do not buy this and think one of them leaked information. Is this possible?

Edit: They are all positive no scents were left, and I believe them on that as it was on day 1, and they're not that active as to have bought Black Skills day 1.

You can leave trespassing scents without any black skills. Stealth 1 in a game where everyone pumps Exploration as high as they can early game makes even trespassing leave a few scents to follow.

You can leave trespassing scents without any black skills. Stealth 1 in a game where everyone pumps Exploration as high as they can early game makes even trespassing leave a few scents to follow.

Neither turned on criminal acts or walk on claim. Im really confused how this actually could happen.
