Free stuff in small hermit establishment

Postby grouse » Sun Nov 06, 2011 11:47 pm

Hey forum-goers and trolls,

A friend and I built a little hermitage a great distance from any river, but we made a newbie mistake and left our palisade corners unsealed while we slept. When I woke up this morning, I see a guy in a bear cape has cut down all the trees in the SW corner, moving some empty crates around. He makes some threats, says he want the cave entrance and tells us to "declaim and gtfo nicely", makes some small talk, and tries to shoot me a couple times. My farmer has zero combat skills, so I run into the house.

I also had a dream about getting murdered in the cave the night before, and don't like the anxiety that this game is giving me. Games are supposed to be relaxing. I have realized that I just don't have the free time to "get good enough" to deal with the hostility and requisite PvP involved in Haven and Hearth. This girl is not a fan of combat.

Long story short, the house, the claim and all the stuff in it is free for the taking (two crates full of bream inside). The keys are in a chest between the palisade and the south-gate. Not going to give the bear-cloaked griefer the satisfaction of declaiming, but feel free to vclaim over it or whatever. Plenty of vandalism and trespassing scents around if you want to make sure that no one else interferes with your brand new cave. The second entrance is marked on the map, and guarded only by a hearth fire of one of our alts. This cave is ENORMOUS. Click the image below to see my pre-cartography copy-paste map with notes on soil and clay q as well.

Cheers!

It is actually possible to have a hermit camp and completely ignore the outside world, of course this means giving up foraging ;) . But yes, not the game for you if ur looking to play casually really.

It is much more casual if you join a big village. I'm not sure what is available this world, though.

I have been asking myself the same question, what big villages are out their that are not raiding/being raided daily in this new world? :|

As far as I can see, none. Most non-aggressive villages seem to be getting wiped out before they even get started. I could be totally wrong, and people are just keeping their mouths shut until they have things established, however, it seems that most of the "builder" type of players are either not playing, or having a bitch of a time keeping themselves alive and not making much progress.

All the good none "evil" villages have quit apart from a few small groups who you probably wont hear of

Currently, this game is perfect for people who have no skills outside of this game.

Other than that, it's fun to play for about eight total hours and then you suddenly realize the futile pointlessness of playing a game with no moderation and no updates that isn't finished and requires you to be a douchebag to enjoy.

If any of you play Battlefield 3 and get shot in the face by PantsFree. Hi.

What a shame. I was by this place the other day. It looked like most people on this land mass left after they got ransacked.
