Crossroads question

I log in and I see freshly dropped items in a house blocked by hearthfires, so I log out and hop on an alt real quick. I manage to catch a guy, in a party hat, as he finishes making a runestone out of one of my boulders and I memorize him. He sees me and runs to my crossroad and uses it to leave my pally. Which leads into the title of the thread.

Is it possible for a non villager to use crossroads ?

I'm the LS and I didn't add anyone except and IRL friend who is a newb and one other guy who happens to be the chief. The chief sent me a forum PM saying his account no longer has characters on it. ( PMed him back, trying to confirm but no word as of yet )

So it seems to me he is either lieing or had his account hacked and the hacker added characters to my village in order to rob me of 1 hard leather and a few pieces of wax.

So is there something I could be missing here ? Is there any other way "Mister party hat" could have gotten in my village and/or been able to use the crossroads ?

PS he made a runestone but didn't leave me a message Kinda disappointed actually.

Yes, anyone can use crossroads, villager or not. This should be in "How Do I" though

Yeah newbie mistake but common gimme some credit here, I didn't poop myself with rage and blame game mechanics then rage quit. Just asking some simple questions to help clarify my confusion.

And no problem friend! thanks for the q23 wax you accidentally dropped and all that q40-50 stone that I wouldn't have had otherwise. Seems to me like it could have been a lot worse for me considering you didn't take anything you didn't want or destroy any containers.

I gotta ask though. Why not kill that alt or at the least KO him and steal his pants?

Just took what I could use. I've been griefed beyond repair before and it really sucks. If I had found nothing useful maybe I'd have been a little jaded and destroyed all your containers and killed your alt. But yeah man live and learn.
