as a matter of justice

Postby skammich » Tue Feb 07, 2012 12:33 pm

I'm fairly new to the game, but a quick learner. I can handle the occasional theft and vandalism just fine, but this is a game a chose to get my GF into MMO's (i know terrible choice)

after a long night of drinking some craft brews (in actual life, not in game) i decided to log in and noticed our food table was completely emptied of the fish and other goodies my GF and I had ventured out to harvest, and... now this part bothers me the most... the single herbalist table i crafted next to our farm was stolen and taken somewhere.

now in a state of inebriation i plead for some justice.

i was granted mercy by some Russians when we first settled as they saw we were very new, they only asked that we move on, we did.

as i said, i'm fine with the theft, but i'm not sure how to break the news to my GF that some kid decided our pitiful village was worth griefing. i just want to show her a screen cap of a skeleton so she can be satisfied that there is even justice in a lawless game like HnH.

if it matters i spent the LP on ranging just so i can gather the scents on the off chance that they will last in my inventory longer than they would in the wild.

If you know your coords on the world map (http://www.algeralith.info/HavenMap/) i can look into it for you.

Here is how you get justice.

First Claim your area,
2nd build a pali wall.

this should all be done without 2 hours of each other.

i agree, but with a steep learning curve i wanted my GF in on every aspect of building our claim, which we had started, and the palisade was being started, but since we both work and goto school full-time there is an issue of gathering the materials for it (specifically leather and boneglue as we picked an awkward area to defend, noob mistake really)

if it comes down to it, i dont mind having to relocate, but as i said, it is an issue of convincing my GF that this isn't always the way, there are people out there that are willing to help new people to a point. (we have some great neighbors in-game that have helped us out as far as materials and scouting intel for the area we settled as opposed to being typical internet-anon tools)

i want to restate the fact that i don't want to come across as a whining noob, i dont mind the work to get back to where we were, i just don't want my GF to be discouraged by this setback, i want something to show her that its not always the case that we will be at the mercy of some kid with no obligations and no mercy to obviously new people.

Sadly with the current state of the player base, it is really best to get first a palisade, then a brickwall, up, before even bothering with herbalist tables and all the fun stuff...

Also keep the materials for a palisade on an alt, to prevent them from being stolen.

Please PM me your coordinates if you find them, although I'm guessing bmjclark will be able to help you far better than I ;)

Hell I'd even be willing to help bring a little bit of justice.

Haven and hearth has become a lawless, merciless land; filled with raiders, griefers, and the occasional lawman.

If your girlfriend can't live with that, there's nothing more to be said.
Not acting like a faggot anymore.
