Unknown Russian Attackers

A guy came by our soon-to-be-village in a pumpkin helm and gave us 3 curios outside our gate. He was Russian. Tried to make friends with him despite "RUSSIANSAREBAD" stigma. Thought maybe he was an exception. He looked like a noob, so we put a few decent curios and some meat outside to thank him for his 3. A few minutes later, at least two other guys came up to the gate. I tried to say hello and ask if they needed anything, but they killed one of my mains by shooting through our palisade with a bow, and q82 arrows. Completely unprovoked, but hey, that's the game. XD Not sure who is was, but we're a bit north of CCCP and they appeared to be coming from NW. Sorry, no screenshots. It happened very fast and unexpectedly. :\

Any ideas as to who it may have been?
We're probably going to move, but not sure where yet. Looking for recruitment. PM me for info.

Ah. We found them by accident when foraging, and didn't see anyone. Any idea how to befriend them so we don't have this happen again? We gave it a shot, and they returned the favor in a different way, it seems. XD
