The mountain ambush

Postby ninja_yodeler » Sat May 05, 2012 9:27 am

One sunny day the fearless leader and I were walking along, on our way to destroy a vault that has popped up near our area, when, as you may guess, 4 or 5 or 6 d helms pop up from nowhere and we begin a merry chase around the mountain. i had my inven full of boards and blocks so I had no water, no sword, no shield. so i figure (as in reality the fearless leader can be quite fearful at times) im going to die, I may as well save him while im going, so I fuck around the running a little, letting them get closer and make me the prime taget, before running the rest of my 50% stam away from the fear*full*less leader before turning around and fighting.

Props to whoever you are for 1vs1'ing (except for that final bit, i think your 2 friends started to hit on me as well :/)

Though I must say you do seem to be quite the bunch of noobs in good gear. By no standards are my stats high, but they are higher than yours, your chasing was pretty bad and im not exactly the best runner (if i had water im sure i could have gotten away). Your fighting was quite fun, almost exactly the same as phaen infact (are you some secret apprentice of his?)
though, if i had my sword and shield i could have beat at least whoever was 1.v1'ing me. If only my khto was a vs :'(

anyway, cool story bro, needs more unicorns.

Im not so sure how I feel about having to build another char (again)....again....again
So for the first time since september 2010 I may willingly take a break from this game....buuut it probably wont last long.

Sorry about the whole thing, ninja. :?

When we set off I had my doubts already since we were awfully prepared and only two fighters. I did not like the whole thing either but I went along with it since I knew you wanted to see some action and from your description it sounded like we would just drive out one or two newbie raiders in a badly constructed vault. Although my stats are good I never really had time to spar and never even had a real fight before. Carrying materials was the only thing I believed I would have to do (albeit I already had this bad feeling in my stomach). And I certainly didn't expect a bunch of dhelmers randomly camping on the mountain.
I guess Murphy's law struck badly today. As Khell just said yesterday in a different context: "Hope for the best, prepare for the worst." A rule that we should have taken to heart.

When I saw the first dhelmer and he aggro'd me I thought we can win this but then several other dots appeared on the minimap and panic struck me. I ran off like a headless chicken, hoping you'd understand the gesture and run yourself since you were not yet involved in the fight. I wasn't aware that you had no water on you at all and when he hit me while running the fight was already lost in a way. I did not even see you fighting, my eyes only fixed on the obstacles in my way, so I'd not bump into something during the chase. That is what happens when a farmer / crafter goes to help on a hobby raid I guess.

I'll at least see to it that you can get your stats up again quickly if you decide to keep on playing. I owe you for this and I'm really feeling guilty right now.

(on a sidenote: I'm not the leader and I never said I'm fearless. Far from it actually. )
I'm still ashamed and embarrassed about my last post. There are many small reasons but no real excuse for what I said in the end. All that remains is regret because I won't be able to make up for it again.

See you in a different game maybe. Hopefully without retardation from my side.

i know but I like to call you it anyway. I need some kind of a comeback for "homo ninja"

and if anything I should be sorry for the near heart attack you experienced. from the noobishness of the vault design and from what actions i had seen of there's I didnt think it would be a great challenge either.

If you really had a bad feeling you should have not come, even if i moan and complain I can live with making 2 trips...even though it appears this time I could not live making one :P
