Alas, another death today, from a vile herd of mouflon. KILL THEM ALL!!!
But seriously, crap. I've tamed auroch a few times now, thought I had it down. I fenced them in, did the fence gap taming thing, had gotten up to 40, came back for a 3rd try by calling the thunder on a fellow herd member, and 3 of them suddenly found a gap in the fence and rushed me.
Unfortunately this is where my lack of combat practice came in, I tried fighting them like normal, but couldn't keep defense up against 3, I rushed to a rock for stones to sling them to death, but panicked as my defense bar kept collapsing. As the end was nigh, I quickly stuffed my bear hide cloak and boots into my pack to preserve them for the walk back.
The stars rush in, but I still feel the hoofs on my body, crack there goes a rib. They finally leave me alone, but i'm down to 71/315 health. I thank the stars floating over my head and get up to dust myself off, pulling my boots back on and searching for more branches to fullproof my fence a bit more. The main herd is now surrounded by a thicket of signs, not just a measly line.
I head back towards these errant bums (still smirking they are) and start to put up a fence around them (going to sling them to death for fun before getting back to taming), and then... a misclick I assume, maybe I reached for 8 which was build a fire, and hit f8 which was sidestep, as I was re-engaged with minimal health my ability to logically analyze rapidly disappeared and I clicked RUN and tried to flee to my crossroads (I'm not even sure if you can use crossroads while engaged, but it was my only hope obiwan).
A half screen from my external CR, a mere few steps from the village walls, they caught me, and that was the end of Vissy. My forager, my hunter, and my tamer. RIP.

PS Is there anything else to do in a situation like that to save yourself?
PPS- On the plus side, easier to raise stats this time, I had originally planned her as purely a forager, so had put way too much into perception early on.
PPPS - FUCKING SHEEP!!!
