4v1 and escaped

So today I'm in a boat foraging and picking mussles when a guy comes up in a boat to me. We say hi and I keep going in the direction I was going before. He then starts following me. He sometimes tries shooting me with a sling, but with no success. Since I've got no stones I can't shoot at him back, so I just keep going trying to chase him off. After an hour a buddy of his joins him and starts chasing me. They chase me for about another hour and while this goes on I contact someone I met who may be willing to help me.
It's just a newbie who can help me by blocking them with a boat. When I finally see him where we planned to meet I'm still being chased. What I was not prepared for was the fact that there were two more guys there waiting for me all prepared to kill me.
They surround me and someone jumps into my boat. He starts gaing ip I think but I'm just too adrinaline-filled to understand shit. I try some different ways of escaping but I realise I'm dead. As a last try to flee I get in the water and start swimming towards land. I get to land and lift a boat and start carrying it over to the water on the other side which you can see in the image. During this time a guy hits me and I go down to 25 soft hp. I finally get to the other side and jump into the boat. I then go as far away from them and since I got on land they were all confused and not prepared to chase me. I go until I reach land on the other side of the lake, jump out, and hearth home.
I'm just so freaking glad and surpirsed I survived.

Tl;dr: I got chased by two guys, then two more. They cornered me but then I managed to escape.

Does that make it any better for a hermit who's got awful combat stats?

When your in a boat it's easy to escape, I remember escaping AD 12 v 2.

As a hermit with no prior real combat experience or mobility training, I'd say you were quite fortunate. Not sure how the attackers were not able to disembark and kill you while you are lifting the boat though as you were pretty much vulnerable due to the crawl speed while lifting. Regardless, I think you've received experienced that most other hermits have not, and that is to deal with a perilous situation. Still had these enemies been better equipped, you would not have survived.
