Yop.

So I'm trading a server map tool.

It's made in php5 / mysql.
It works with google map API and some Ajax.

I would help to set it up on some linux server if needed.

How does that work :

Upload some map folders (there is a tool to upload a zip file - no .rar yet).
Launch the script :
php mixer.php

It makes a backup of the main map tiles folder.
Then it find a tile from the uploaded folders with max 30 pixels different of a tile from the database, when it does, it assumes that these tiles are the same ones.
Then it rename all tiles of the uploaded folder to match the server map coordinates.
Copy this onto the server map folder, and regenerate the zooming tiles.

You can call it with some options :
mixer.php --regen : regen all zooming tiles.
mixer.php --tilesToDb : regen the database tiles hashes with the main tiles folder.

You can share your server map with some allies.
When accessing the map, you'll have to enter a login, and a pass. There are 2 pass per account : administrator password, and viewers password. Administrators can add/modify/delete markers.
Accounts can only be created by the map server administrator.
The same map is shared by all the server map users (but it have been made so it can be modified easily to make one map per account), your login/pass only affect the markers you'll be able to see.

Client side :

Gmap.
Ajax for marker management.
4 zoom levels (you can easily add more).

Here's a screenshot of client render : http://i.imgur.com/Des58.jpg (I placed some markers randomly, don't hope to find a real clay spot nearby ;) )

It's easy to add new markers.

I'll care of the maintenance task. If you meet any bug or whatever, just tell me and i'll correct that out quickly. If you have some ideas to make it better, just let me know, we'll discuss it.

I can make your map server on my own server though you won't have access to the server files.
You'll have to send me a map folder (max 1 per week, max 200Mo).

Ways you can get this tool :
in game goodies :
- wall grade wrought iron.
- steel (q40+).
- woodstuff (pots q50+, water q70+).
- tools (pickaxe q40+, stoneaxe q50+, bonesaw q100+).
- forageable curios.
- merchant robe.
- jewelry.

Trade would be : I village port to you with an alt. Then i give you the map sources.

Wizard goods :
- An explanation document on how to install this tool on a web server.
- map folder uploading tool
- Bricks making bot.
- If you recognize that area on the screenshot, i'd take your map folder in exchange for a whole map access.

Anything else to offer? Want more information, try the map for free?

No offense, it seems like a great program, but this will be rendered useless when Alg. comes out with his W6 map (Anyday now, he has a good amount of tiles done.).
My son, walk not in the way unarmed; because thou knowest not when thy enemy shall come upon thee.

Didn't you post this for free like 2 weeks ago but nobody showed any interest? What makes you think people will care about it now?

Not knocking your effort, just don't see why someone would "trade" for a tool with no interest.

Hum, actually people showed ('have shown'?) some interest.
Apache logs says so at least.
But there was no contributor.

Oh and I already got some trade going with this map :)

Now that people can use it without having to know about coding, they may be more interested. A map is a great tool in that game. A map where you can place markers is even more :)

Ppl who doesn't understand how usefull it might be won't buy it. Ppl who knows advantages of your tool already have similar one probably. I don't know how works your mapper, but sounds good to me. I would buy it but I don't have to :P.
Suggestion: You can add something that might help with tracking. Add your position on the map, put direction, delta and mark it on the map.
