My crafting ability is seriously horrid though but this does seem like the better option over 10 pearls...

No, I'd go with a deal like yours, 6 pearl +3 for the ring itself. I didn't include that, my mistake. I'd just rather not pay 10 pearls like Halloween's thread says

You're essentially paying an extra pearl for the skin and ability to have the ring crafted for you, I don't see much of a problem with that if you'd cap the q by making it yourself.
