OP:

Don't worry too much about all this doom and gloom - embrace it. I've come to realize that everything and everyone in haven is always doomed. Keep working on this trade center. When people set up their barterstands, inform them of the risks of theft & vandalism. It's not essential that the stands last forever in a perfect, pristine state. Make an effort to take out thieves, but make no promises. What traders should care about is whether they make a profit in the meantime between now and the inevitable collapse. Even if they later decide it wasn't worth setting up in your place, there is still a value in participating and being part of things.

Is there any way we can form this so that only invited people can enter the site?

Only distribute signposts to individuals or groups that you trust. Ideally make a separate signpost for each person or group you are inviting so that if they are compromised you can destroy the signpost without a lot of hassle.

Making individual gates for each CR would make sense too.

So, a cell-based system?

Red = Crossroad
Orange = Gate
Brown = Brick Wall
Blue = Stand
Magenta = Village Claim

Yes?

Looks pretty solid. You could then have a keyholder only let in those who are vetted. In other words, if 10 guys port into cell B just laugh at them and pelt them with R-Bows.

The multi gate setup is pretty cheesy because you have to pay 5 steel each gate to have guaranteed safety. This would avoid some random troll bashing every single crossroad if you were to build a single cell gate with multiple crossroads for everyone.

How about this?

Make it so that anybody who wants to join the Trade League has to supply the steel, bricks, etc. for their own "Entrance" to the main market.

They port from their town into the small chamber on the right, access an alt that has their key for their gate to pass to their second crossroad, which leads to the main crossroad in the marketplace - the gated section for the main market could be a fail safe. If there's no trouble, keep it unlocked and open. If there's a threat brewing, close down the market till it blows over/is sorted.

Edit: The beauty is, hopefully, we won't need to seal the "Chamber" wall corners, so we could just extend into a grid fashion to save on steel. I could probably make the chambers smaller too for brick consumption.

I didn't really understand the conception. Can you please clarify your statement?
