Are heartlings alright with Cartel activities?

Postby TeckXKnight » Fri Mar 09, 2012 5:08 am

There was recently a request to have a poll on this topic posted. For those of you who do not know, a cartel is an agreement between competition to set prices on goods between everyone involved.

It would be constructed, controlled, and maintained entirely by players.

i mean not allowing it would go against it, right now we are free to agree on prices whatever way we want and in a way we are already doing it. but an actual created cartel of sorts.... not sure how it would work, im all for trying though.

:D
i selected "other".
i would like to ask all of the forum traders out there, who "willingly" agreed to ramones request of price fixing, why they followed his request and what they think about their own actions, and what they expect consumers to think of such actions.

it wont matter anyway if you think a q150 bear hide is worth 80points and i think its worth 40, and all other potential buyers agree with me youre just not going to get 80, because the trader that disagrees with a cartel is happy for the high increase in business.

(the numbers were just an example)

Well, I think the question is not the best one. Of course they are technically allowed. That is all part of Jorbs social experiment with us. To see how the economy plays out in such a scenario and all.

The question should rather focus around the moral legitimacy of such a cartel. With the current power mechanisms of the game there is no real option of true competitors to the big guns to ever arise and there is also no official, unbiased control mechanism.

We have such an office in Germany that controls the possibility of cartels arising. What Ramones said in the other thread how he treads fellow traders and how it is "unfair" (I am still lol'ing so hard at this) that other traders lower their prices, this official government control office would have listened to with a smile and then put the handcuffs on him to let him think about his logic in prison for a while.
