firstly,, to 'regain' your lost character,, this is impossible... you can only inherit some of their skills/stats in the start room by clicking on their rune stone,

and Hazzor is right, you are misunderstanding what ancestor worship does, and how to do it.
firstly only the first item is needed for the sacrifice(for which you will get one point if neutral traditioon/change slider), the next 2 items in the sacrifice list are to change the first item if you cannot get it (but you lose some points you saved from previous sacrifices)
