Vet looking for group

Postby MagicManICT » Wed Nov 23, 2011 7:04 am

Ok, I'm giving up my hermiting ways (for now). I'm looking for a village and I'm being selective. Criteria will follow.

Some game play "styles": I'm a bit of everything: explorer, achiever, supporter, and builder. I have two characters currently, a farmer (low farming stat at the moment, but pretty much all I'm raising) and a hunter/forager/miner (stats not all that impressive after a couple of stupid deaths, but haven't had an issue getting them back up, either). If I'm a part of a village with time to diversify and do more than one or two tasks, I'd probably specialize that character more into a couple more alts. I spend my play time a bit erratically as I tend towards obsessing on one game at a time, but I can usually be counted on a good 10+ hours a week, more as long as I have goals/tasks to complete. (I've been known to spend 50+ hours on a game in a week before.) I don't mind working with new players or even mentoring one or two people as long as they're willing to listen to what I have to say. I have kids of my own and so don't need any more people that only half listen. Finally, I'm a bit of a PvP noob, but I've given myself at least a basic knowledge of it. If anyone has any more questions, feel free to ask.

Selection criteria:

1. Village experience: I'm looking for a group with an average of experience of at least intermediate to advanced. I don't mind mentoring one or two people, but not the entire village.

2. Village age: 18+. If you're average age is at or below this, I don't even want to hear from you.

3. Village politics: I'm going all out for the maximum fun factor. That means almost anything goes. I'm an EVE vet of 3+ years and have had experience in almost all levels of PvP activity there.

4. No "rage quitters". If you don't plan on sticking around after your village has been raided, I don't want to hear from you. If you're in a village and have never been raided, you haven't been playing long enough and likely don't fit point number one.

5. I reserve the right to add more as questions come up.

Best of luck finding a village. It seems to be getting harder and harder as the game goes along.
Yes, I am a Wizard.

Thanks. I know it is. I'd put the effort into founding one if I knew I could find dependable people and knew I'd dedicate the time to running things. Still have to put out the feelers, though, to find something.

I've gotten a couple of replies and am leaving this open for another day or two to see if anyone else meeting my criteria has a spot open in a village.

I would like to thank those that have replied to this and opened their gates. It's a hard choice, and one I won't make lightly.

Never was one that I know of. I've always been a hermit. I picked this avatar up when I played Travian and was in an alliance called "Rainbow Bears of Love". I've kept it ever since.

For those that don't recognize it, it's from the web comic Erfworld. It's about a gamer geek, who, being quite the genius he is, creates his own turn-based tabletop war game and then somehow gets sucked into his own game world and has to figure his way out (assuming he really wants out). There's tons of schtick, puns, and bad references to pop culture.

edit: one more thing: It's pretty easy to find a village if you have a solid rep behind you as knowing the game and/or are willing to just about any job necessary to help make a village run.
