What are the benefits of being a member of Dis, and what's to stop party killers from slaying you soon as you join up?

if they wanted to kill you , they would show up at your doorstep. they dont need to port you in for that

Not really what I meant. In a game where petty grudges often result in much wasted time, I'm wondering if members have a guarantee on their life, or perhaps if there is a judicial system involved.
