And anyone with a basic understanding of human genetics can certainly appreciate that the idea of ethnicity is itself kind of outdated, at least in any provable way. Either you try to pick a specific set of genetic markers, which is going to remove half of "your people" anyway given simple mutation, or you establish some kind of arbitrary distinction between infinitely quantized degrees of heredity and find that it disagrees sharply with observed reality. You can't just say "half bloods are acceptable" like people are racehorses; you half to define which half, where that half varies both by hereditary source and by actual recieved genetics. Thanks to hundreds of generations of our ancestors being consistently more horny than they were racist, we're all mutts anyway; some of us just match historically described sets of physical traits, because polygenes are versatile like that.

But, you know, spitting in the face of all that in favor of massive racism works too.

And just as an aside, not everyone going after you is anti-Semitic. Some people just want your stuff, and some want revenge for you killing them on sight for speaking the wrong language. It's more than a little offensive to hear you claim that every attack against you is specially motivated.

I know it's a rhetorical question, but I'm going to take a stab at it anyway:

Because people irrationally dislike the irrationality of others, and they don't like being excluded. Belleraphone here is doing both; he's excluding a lot of people for a totally irrational reason. That's not to say it's ipso facto a bad reason; people also make art for irrational reasons, for example. That said, excluding everyone but a certain race from a group is definitionally racist, and that angers people, all the more for the logical implication that the people being included are somehow better, especially when this division is an old one with a lot of history to it. Race is a classic example. Here, that's exacerbated all the more because the group in question maintains as a central point of their dogma how special they are, but that's more a theological matter than a sociological one. If I started a village containing only blue-eyed people, the same patterns would emerge--non-meritocratic selection is percieved as unfair, and so people react to the implied insult to them as suits their nature.

It's Haven, of course, so that reaction runs the gamut from trolling to sympathy, but still.

So that's the reason, in my view, for the basal level of animosity--because racism's bad, and people know that, and people outside an arbitrary group don't like being there. Now, the fact that Belleraphone's village is also killing all the Russian speakers it can find, branding everyone who attacks them an anti-Semite, and generally trying to reframe everything into an ethnic conflict makes it a hundred times worse, and that's fixable by adopting a less hugely dickish playstyle. Of course, they have every right to keep playing like genocidal lunatics, and the rest of us can decide not to trade with them or maybe knock some sense into them via battering ram -- and as long as they keep doing the former and then coming on the forums and trying to claim the moral high ground, that absurdity is going to keep turning their threads into this.

Now, personally, I'd like to start playing every day by strolling through the skeletons of everyone in that village tastefully arrayed in my flower garden like lawn gnomes, but that's just me. And Belleraphone would call that anti-Semitic and rally everyone he can reduce to a similar ethnicity behind him in a veritable fatwa against me, but that's just him.

Tekkin, if everyone was as smart as you then maybe I wouldn't need to do this. But there is still lots of anti-semetism on the internet so my hand is forced. Also I want to live together with other Jews because we speak the same language and share the same culture. Is that so wrong? There's another thread for Hispanos, why are you not bothering them? Also, almost all of the attacks against us have been anti-semetic. They yell shit like die jews and make swatsikas with stones. My reasons are not irrational at all, I just want to recruit Jews into my village, please leave me alone.
