Mature Newb looking for village

I've just recently started playing this game. I enjoy 'roughing it' but would like to have a village nearby to trade and socialize with from time to time. I mind my own business and don't cause trouble for others and expect similar treatment.

IRL I'm 31, live in the US (eastern time zone) and prefer to log on in the evenings.
