Never go out looking for animals, either you'll come across bears, boars, or nothing at all.

What you should do, is work on your perception and exploration skills and go foraging. Not only will you find some useful stuff, but you will run across every rabbit in the world that would be hunters are looking for.

The trick to catching rabbits are as follows.

Step 1: Check your inventory to make sure you have a 2x2 empty space in it.
Step 2: Left-click on the rabbit to stand on it.
Step 3: Set speed to as high as it goes.
Step 4: Right click on the Rabbit.
