Village plan

Postby ttttt » Sat Mar 31, 2012 6:35 pm

this is not a recruitment thread just a plan for other people to use
wasnt sure where to put this but i was bored
I made a quick village plan based on a 150x150 box just to help people who are wondering where to go or do with themselves
or maybe for a group of players starting over i dont really know to be honest
Image
The orange squares (10 in total) are for private areas (25x25) in size
The yellow squares are for crops (10x10)
The red squares are areas available for log cabins for communal storage
The "meant to be pink square" (in the middle) is for the village idol
And finally the black lines are for roads (5 squares wide)
This is really an immpossible idea unless you had ten experienced players working for a day or two
but it could always be adapted to a smaller size and theres plenty of un planned space there for ovens and everything else
Well that killed 20 minutes for me hope you like it :)

10 people probably need more space than that unless they are all rather casual. How about tree farms? Animal pens? Silk industry? A curtain wall would also be worth including. Anyway, nice map, everyone loves maps, and extra points for using a scanner.

well i based the size on the amount of work once the pali was up it wouldnt matter but a pali of 150x150 would take i think 1000+ trees
so you would need a large work fore and a stroke of luck with no griefers

Try around ~90 logs, or ~45 [s]Pine[/s] Fir tree's. (+ ~9 tree-logs for forgotten initial CP costs)

Isn't it ~75 trees (given 1 tree has 2 logs and stump)?

Let's do some rough calculations. I am too lazy to do CP's, so i'll just imagine this wall was made with 100% wall sections

1 tree gives 2 logs.

1 log when cut gives 12 blocks of wood

each wall section needs 3 blocks of wood.

3x150 = 450 blocks of wood for 1 side
450x4 = 1800 blocks of wood for all 4 sides

1800/12 = 150 logs without CP's or gate

75 pine trees would be needed for that.

2056 blocks of wood with 1 initial post, 3 more posts, and two for the gate.

Or, 172 logs.

That means it would take 86 pine trees to build a 150x150 pali wall with one gate.

Nice plans.

Yea, lol. Like ~90 tree's is just as far of as 1000+ tree's.

Stumps are ignored by me as there a major speed bump and hunger drain.
If speed is not important you can drop the needed tree's even further down by pre-collecting tree-logs that you find lying around.
Anyway, See Shadow7168 post for useful details. And with a little planning you can have a big Palisade up in no time.

Mmm, Did I say Pine. Oops, actually meant Fir tree. (Pine = 3 logs/tree, Fir: 2 logs/tree.) Seems I forgot the initial CP costs to ... again.

i didnt mean the extra zero  i meant to say 100+
and all of you are not including that in an ideal world each personal spot would be pali so you would need atleast 20 more cp so 25 more trees to your estimate and then the four more cps once the plot is inhabited for gate and walls around it etc

It isn't so hard to include CP's and gate. Just add this:
100 blocks + 3*30 blocks + 2*30 blocks + 30 blocks - 8*3 blocks=256 bloks
2056 blocks total.
