Young community looking for new members

Postby xeorsos » Fri Apr 27, 2012 12:05 am

Hey there! I'll try to keep this as short as possible, but no promises. We're a budding new village that's slowly coming together. We've got three active members so far and a palisade to protect ourselves, and we're diligently working towards a brick wall. We don't yet have a village claim, but it's gonna happen here soon.

Our property is pretty modest at this point. We don't have a mine or clay node, so hopeful potters, blacksmiths, and jewelers will need to look elsewhere. We provide personal living areas for each person (you can lay a claim down if you like) as well as a large community area where most of the crafting takes place.

If you're looking to join our group there are a few things you should know. Our community has only two rules: Do your job, and don't be a cunt. Players who can't abide those won't find much love within our walls. If you do anything that leaves a summonable scent you should be aware that we will gladly hand you over to any ranger who comes looking for you. And finally, you really must speak English. It doesn't have to be your first language, but you need to be able to communicate with the rest of us.

We ask that every member of our community choose a single role and stick to it. Currently we're looking for a farmer, curios forager(s), hunter(s), cook, fisherman, and cloth/leather worker. We're not worried about overlap so long as everyone pitches in and continues to push us forward. You don't have to be incredibly experienced with H&H to be invited into our village. We're willing to teach new players who show potential, but we damned well expect you to read and reference the wiki. A base understanding of H&H overall is helpful, and you'll need to thoroughly understand your own role.

If you're still interested in joining at this point you can fill out this quick little questionnaire and post it in a reply here in the thread (or PM me). We'll take the time to get back to everyone who seems to have potential. We're also open to answering any questions you might have, so feel free to ask.

Age:17 years 8 months
Location:Poland(ball)
How often you play daily & weekly:2-8h/d 3-7d/w
Experience with Haven & Hearth:From mid w5 till the bitter end. Have been in 3 villages. Left first to get to my mates village. In the secound one there were also people that were rude, so i left it back to first where there were a misunderstanding so i travelled the world wide and far. I stumbled across 50ql soil node and decided to trade some of the resources. A man decided to take them for me in return for joining his village.
The very next day someone ambushed the village by rushing through opened gate, attacking me and knocking me out. My new friend punched him and he punched quite well (300UAC). The ambusher soon found out that it was his worst and last mistake as he died. I got his gear then, a very good gear (the best item was 89ql bronze sword afaik). Soon then, i decided to become a farmer and i did it quite well. In fact as the people there stayed offline for few days, I managed to keep up auth and walls up, so i was rewarded with some curiosites. Unfortunatelly one of the men here was bad karma. He raided one willage (for teh lulz) and so the russian people came. With the very first ambusher's mates. (as it seemd then he was a bane of our community) Our village was stolen from. Then the world ended.
Your preferred role(s):
-Hunter
-Forager (I prefer to keep rarer things to myself but I can share stuff like glimmermoss when i find it)
-Famer or miner (I'd prefer to mine since i am a little bored of farming at world 5)

Also:
-How secure is your village? (number of keys, do you use xroads?)
-How many people are there?
-How far away are you from river?
-It seems you are peaceful lawful karma. That's good.
-Do you organise some kind of council to plan?
-I do speak english well. My level is C1. Or higher. At least thats what my book says.
-I hope that me being polish won't deter you from recruiting me. I am not a thief (though i trolled some people by taking tin bar 10ql from them for they have been rude to me long enough; didn't take anything else from anyone though there were a lot of better opportunities so i guess I'm fair), I do not kill, I can leave you a tresspass scent if that makes you more comfy.

-Security is fairly decent at this point in time. We've only got a palisade up so far, but we're working on the brick wall. We have a single key to our palisade gate stored on a gatekeeper alt, and will be employing crossroads when our village claim goes up. We have no intention of creating additional keys.
-Currently about 3. We invited two other people into our village but they've been absent for a few days.
-We're actually right on the river, on a small two-part island near the edge of the world.
-Yep. We're the peaceful sorts.
-The village is still in its infancy with nearly all of the construction having been done by its two founding members (me and another fellow). The layout of our town is very precise and efficient (to save space), and there has thus far been a large amount of discussion and planning between the founding members. Once the village gets up and going there will of course be planning on a community level, but for now, no. It's just the three of us. :D
-Woo! I'm a big fan of English.
-I've got no problem with the Polish. Like was previously stated, we only get uncomfortable about summonable scents. There's not really any way for us, as a community, to know if you're doing these things or not. Our policy is that if someone comes knocking... well, you made your bed.

Age: 16
Location: USA
Experience w/ H&H: play almost every day and every week
Preffered professions:
-Forager
-Farmer
-Fisherman
-Craftsman (I doubt it will be needed much though)

Since I have been speaking english for about 14 years now, there should be no language barrier. I have not really had the opportunity to play in a village other than the small haven that my brother and I have made, so I am looking forward to the chance to do so.
