About us
Hearthaven was once a grand village, busy with life and filled with wealth from hard working villagers. However, that wealth was our downfall as villagers accused each other of theft and vandalism. Tensions rose rather quickly and soon village mate fought Village mate after trying to take justice into their own hands. After much fighting amongst each other and devastating raids by unknown forces, Hearthaven is down to it's last two villagers. Our brick wall is very nearly done and we need help restoring our village to it's former glory. We need YOUR help.
Hearthaven is small, but very organized. Unfortunately, raids have left us with little to nothing, save for a few high quality tools and our buildings. We will be using the personal plot system which means you will be given a small plot with a log cabin (no houses available until expansions) to store things you are less then willing to share. If we get enough good players to join, we have plans for a huge expansion. (screenshot taken with Daji's graphics mod)
Curios are given to the Law Speaker and are distributed to the villagers depending on their contributions and attention span to prevent hoarders.
Requirements:
-You must be able to use Enders and it's update, or some other type of modded client. No point in giving curios to those who die from a bear that was hiding behind a tree.
-You must be dedicated.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~You must be on at least once a day and we won't share with someone who is afk half of the time.
-You must be mature.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Don't rage at glorious leader because your mansion rights are taken. It happens for a reason.
-You must know how to use a crossroad.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~You will be surprised how many don't (I'm looking at YOU Justin). Sorry, but you won't get a gate key.
-You should be able to play at least for a little while everyday.~~~~~~People who suddenly go inactive for 4 days without notifying someone will be exiled.
-You must be cooperative.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~We won't get anything done if we're fighting each other.
-You should be able to contribute on your own.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Officials won't always be on to give orders.
-You must be able to follow orders.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Obeying laws of the village and doing jobs when told to and such. Whatever the Law Speaker says, goes.
-(for newbies) You must be willing to learn.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~You won't get anywhere if you don't know what to do.
-You should have a Skype account.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~You don't need a mic. It's good to keep in contact with each other in case we're not in game.
Laws:
For the moment we have a strict No scents policy. If you leave any summonable scents outside the walls you will be exiled for the duration of the scent. Your hearth fire destroyed.
For scents inside the walls:
-No trespassing. I will give you a stern talking to as punishment >:(
-No theft. Stealing from each other is what made me create this thread. You will be forced to return the item, and something of your own to the victim.
-No vandalism. Something of equal or higher value to you will be destroyed and you will be exiled for a day.
-No battery. We will knock you out, take your clothes, and exile you for two days
-No murder. No murder. At all. Seriously. Punishment will be exile and execution of the murderer. Take serious complaints and grudges to the Law Speaker or Cheif before you go lopping people's heads off
You may get permission to leave scents from village officials. But only then.
Jobs:
Assistant: An assistant's job is to help the villagers with unspecific needs such as lumber jacking, fishing, building, boat making, stone cutting, sexual favors, etc. They do pretty much every job people don't want/are to lazy to do.
-You don't really need any requirements for this job.
-Fresh players will given assistant jobs until they get their stats up.
Farmers: A farmer's job is to farm crops of course. They have a very important job of farming the food we eat to train our work and military force. We are in need of good farmers as it takes a long time to farm crops (and I hate doing it myself ;_;). Farmers must also fill the food troughs and have the option to make cheese, make pretty silk things, etc.
-You must be active and train your farming and (optional) dexterity.
-You must also have at least 100 farming to touch crops.
Foragers: A forager's job is to collect curios for the village. One of the most important jobs because curios are what makes hnh go around. Foragers will have to compete against other foragers for the rarer curios and may be attacked on sight (very rarely though).
-You get high exploration.
-You must train your perception
Hunters: A hunter's job is to hunt animals for the village. Animal meat is processed into sausage to feed the village with excellent stat foods. Animal hides are turned into leather which is used to make backpacks and traveler's sacks. It will be your choice weather you want to use a sword or bow. Hunters may also be drafted into militia during desperate times.
-You must raise your survival and (optional) cooking.
-You must raise agility and constitution and depending on your weapon of choice, you should also raise strength or perception.
Miners: A miner's job is to mine ores from the earth to make metals and arm the village with weapons and armors. Mining is a very simple job so you will also be forging the items we use to protect our villagers. We currently only have an l1 mine with some iron and tin but we will go deeper as soon as we recover supplies for hard leather. Miners may also extremely rarely encounter a troll, HnH's most fearsome beast in the game. In that case if you're not fast enough, you will probably die...
-You must know how to mine under a support radius.
-You must raise strength and constitution.
-You may want to raise smithing.
Soldiers: A soldier's job is a very dangerous one. A soldier dedicates their life to take the life of another in order to protect the village and it's villagers. Your reward will be the glory of being a hero and praise from all the villagers, and any war loot if their is any. Be warned, soldiers DO die and you will most likely die if you choose this job and not know what to do. You will be trained if neccesary, in the arts of standing combat and movement combat.
-You must raise unarmed and/or melee combat.
-Your main stats will be agility, constitution, and strength.
-You will want to have good resolve as you may or may not die.
