Brand new player, looking for helpful village!

Hello, I am trying to get into this game, and I think it would be a lot more fun to do with a group of friends . I don't really have any experience with this game, so any help to get me started would be appreciated! If anyone is currently in a village that needs/wants a new member, I would be glad to join, even if I don't have any skills yet.

I too am new here and would like to at least play with some other people. I don't mind gathering, harvesting, cooking ...whatever really. Just would like someone to chat with while doing it. Age 31, time zone EST and usually on 2 or 3 times a day currently. I only saw one person so far while boating and they didn't stop to say hello
