Looking for a new village

Hi, I'm new to H&H, and I wanted to get to know how to play the game without having to refer to the wiki pages which have minimal information. I have the patience to play through the lag because I've been looking for a game like this for a while.

My timezone is GMT, and I can play for many hours each day as I'm only in college for 3 days a week. I know some simple aspects of the game, E.g. the LP system and what everything on the HUD does, but I'd like to get to know how I should play the game (what would be best for me to do).

I'm hoping to find a new village, so that I can help out as much as I can without feeling like I'm a burden on the occupants (asking questions about the game and what not), but I'd gladly join any village who would be happy to have me.
