Hey Ogrim,
I'm a hermit and I hate building walls!
I love the hermit lifestyle and there's no need to be lonely, I know all my neighbours and make a point of introducing myself to all newcomers to the area (for safety/harmony reasons as well as to help out, lol). I also have a seperate claim for new players where they can learn the game behind a palli and at least get protection from the wildlife.
The last lot quit during the lag but with the rush of new players now, i'm just in the process of allocating new places.
I've also recently taken over an abandoned claim and have decided to make it into a plot for two players to share and do what they want with it. They won't exactly be villagers, in the sense they won't have access to the rest of the village, but they will be on village grounds, have a b/walled enclosure and help if they need/want it. If this works out successfully, I may make other area's into similar plots, but we'll see how it goes.
Like Granny, my rl commitments would make it difficult to have a full functioning village and tbh I like the peace and quiet of a hermitage. I like things placed and organised a certain way and I think i'd get easily frustrated with villagers, lol, I have a helper atm and i'm constantly re-arranging his chest when he just chucks things in it randomly - i'm sure this would get annoying to villagers after awhile.
With the hermit lifestyle you can grow at your own pace and there is no pressure involved - a perfect end to a stressful rl day!
