Have fun Yolan! I am so sorry I can't join you this time, but I'm making my own village :)

Generally speaking the people who died in the previous Brodgar were caught unawares while wandering around outside their plots. I noticed that more experienced players had a lower death rate because they took a bit more care. Given that this town will have a walled keep, I think you can be safer if you take a few basic precautions. I.E. use a scout alt before sending your main outside to wander the town, or for normal tasks like gathering wood, socializing, etc. When farming in your yard, wear some armor to prevent getting sniped ;-) But yes, you might get horribly murdered now and then. That is a risk you take. Keeping a spare character on hand studying curios could take the sting out I guess.

- Journal of Yolan, Founder of Brodgar -
- First Entry -

For now I am writing this journal on a scrap of paper brought with us from the old world with the rest of our meager possessions. There is not much space left, so for now I must write in small script and keep the entries brief.

Where to begin? Once again we have been cast into the wild. The collapse of the city of Brodgar was long foreseen. What was not anticipated was that it was the hand of nature, not men, which eventually was to be its downfall. Of what happened a mere few nights past I can not yet bring myself to write of here, but I know it will haunt my dreams for many nights to come. The others are no less scarred I am sure.

Hounded by nightmares through a baren landscape we kept moving for days, pushed to our limits, discarding all our belongings, our cattle and prized possessions as they weighed us down. But here we are, the survivors of old Brodgar, ready to begin again in a new land. There are only some twenty of us left, but perhaps more stragglers will find us soon. I also suspect that Brodgar was not the only town to meet its end. We may gather more people as the days go by. For now the task is simply to stay alive, foraging for food and constructing shelters. We shall see what tomorrow brings.

That would be a better entry for two days ago, but I'm running a bit behind. ;-)

Brodgar now had a central keep palisade 130 by 130 tiles completed, and houses are springing up. We have some good hunters, so hopefully the Vidol won't take too long. Then we can see about setting aside a spawning ground somewhere. To. qualify for authing we may require you have a claimed plot in town (obviously outside of village influence) and/or that you help out for a day or so with road work. Interested people can PM me as always in the meantime.
