By the looks of it they have no intention of removing their claims anyways and plan to build a village idol. They managed to block in his claim while it's still quite small (next time if you want to protect something maybe invest more LP) so it should be easy to revoke it if they get a v-claim up. Plus that other claims looks huge so why invest that much LP if you don't plan to take something over?

The claim is ~20x16 just from eyeballing it. That's 320 tiles and 80,000 authority to declaim it. That translates to a village and 2 statues to declaim it.

This isn't a post to say that the idea is right or wrong, just to qualify some numbers.
