Its stupid common, in the like 3 weeks ive been playing my first camp was me and a irl friend we were raided and killed, he quit alltogether, I died 2 more times to random ppl for no aparent reason, and once to a person because I wouldnt build a hearth fire so they could smash it this of course after they tried to leech me and took my gear including a bear robe thing and a necklace given to me buy an experienced guy i met just earlier that day. now i live super secluded away from anyone or anything with another guy I met who just started a few weeks ago who lived in a village of a handfull of ppl that were ganked while he was rabbit hunting and later was forced to work for random ass wipes or he wouldve died. :/

Technically, anyone is fair game. You don't need to leave scents for people to warrant killing you. Scents only make it that little bit easier.
