Correct me if I am wrong but I think you can't rebuild gate if both Cornerposts are sealed.

They can bash the corners and build their own.

if he had to leave scents, then the claim wasnt abandoned. accept the consequence by your own action or you stay noobs forever. (in other words, start working on brickwalls before resorting to thefts, or dont leave scents.)

Wow insane bit of policing here, but also correct me if i'm wrong any personal claim active or inactive you will leave all scents on with the exclusion of vandalism when bashing the inactive personal claim. Which requires a certain skill (Vandalism) & certain level of strength (unsure wiki it, probably 100+). Being new players they may have been able to afford theft but not afford the extra for vandalism or even the str to bash the claim when they are there, and I've seen too many pclaims that have probably been inactive since the beginning of this world.

Thus making the assumption that the claim was active is void.

Leaving scents without a brick wall is tempting fate, and he got his. It happens. But I went by the claim he stole from, it was definitely abandoned. Fields full of mature crops and unplowed land underneath is a tell-tale sign that no one's been around for a while.

if something is claimed, it is claimed thus you leave scents. if you want to commit a crime, accept the consequence accordingly or secure yourself. that simple.

Just stating the definition of the word active. That was all.

Although I agree do not leave scents if you cannot handle what comes from that. My advice buy a sledgehammer & Bear cape and bash personal claims before any theft actions are taken place the initial trespassing only lasts 8 hours and has less chance of being spotted.

Good luck!

And how would newbs do that? They can hardly afford palisade so battering ram is very expensive for them. And even if they build a battering ram they still need some str to bash down corners. As for just simply bashing down corners by hand (+tools) I doubt they have enough str. When something like that happens and you don't have much to repair the damage is the best idea to move far far away. Also if perpetrator bashed once and if they come back and see you rebuild they bash it again just from pure pleasure to f**k you up again.
