Yeah, but you seem to know nothing about the situation at hand. So your platitudes don't make sense here.

I was commenting the information given in the thread.

"Apparently the way I went AFK for a while looked a lot like spying (...)" sounds very much like a case not learning the culture well enough.

And the fact that she got killed by them, means that she either didn't give them enough leverage or she didn't have enough on them.

What I missed in this whole thread was how she may very well be responsible in a non-negligible manner for her own fate. You were merely pointing out that she was a nice person and automatically implying that she is without any guilt for that reason. Instead of joining the chorus of Yes-sayers, I provided an alternative paradigm.

What I am refering to is that she has a history with basically everyone involved and has played among the very same people that now murdered her in past worlds.

This whole thing was obviously a misunderstanding and not Sarah's fault at all unless you want to argue that you can only be safe if you play completely alone. Because the way you seem to put it is that you shouldn't even trust close friends and I would say that is nonsense.

Russia and USA handled "trust" very well through mutually assured destruction.

As for her friendship with them: "Anyways, I came back to the world and joined up with a crew of folks, some of whom I knew from older world". That doesn't sound like the description of "close friends".

Perhaps she underplayed their assumed friendship in this thread, which would definitely put matters in a different light.

As for who you can trust and who you can't trust: in a sandbox game, if a true friend betrayed you inside the game, you would still be true friends outside of the game, because just because a "true friend" kills you in a FPS it doesn't mean you stop being friends unless you were never "true friends" to begin with. Bottomline being: it is a game.

Evidently many do not realize it and become butthurt just because their "true friends" betray them. See Ainran vs Dis account debacle during previous world.

If a true friend betrayed me in HnH I would still be mad at him outside of the game too. Then again my real life friends would never do such a thing, because it is a shitty move and they'd know that.

In Swedish there is a well-known proverb that fits perfectly into this situation. Ask Jorb/Loftar for their opinion about it (given that they are Swedes too).
It goes: "Den som ger sig in i leken, får leken tåla", which is more or less translated to "Whoever enters a game by their own free will, must endure the game without QQing".
