i never said that. its just funny how you tell others not to quit after a death when your action doesnt.

I told OP to be cautious. That also means "don't shove your face into stronger people".
Just because I killed a guy for a reason I think is right, doesn't mean I wanna kill everyone in the game. I genuinely don't want OP to quit.

I died countless times but never quit.
And what you said isn't true, some morons are peaceful too. Heck, many smart people kill as well.
It doesn't really suck, since there's no real goal in this game, when you die you're as far from finishing the game as you were before you died.
Anyway think of it like this: You don't get your stats 'back up' when you die. You just get your stats up.

Well that is your opinion...most of us have a life and being killed destroys invested time. Its up to that person then to decide to go further and do it all over or quit.

You ask a question but you already had an answer. Good for you you died countless time and dont quit...Some have a life and dont have the time to do that.

Anyways, I died twice to assholes and havent quit yet either but the question was why do they quit.. BECAUSE IT SUCKS WHEN YOU DIE..and you die so easily after month of play

You don't seem to understand yet.
If they really didn't have the time, they wouldn't even play BEFORE they got killed.
Playing when you die and before you die takes the SAME AMOUNT OF TIME. And since there's no goal, you simply PLAY. Death is nothing.
You don't do it "all over again", you just do it.

Nooby, it isn't quite like that for everyone. I understand why people want to quit, you know I felt like it myself, I haven't, but I felt like it.

There is a goal, for me it's to create a village, raise q and try to make all the game has to offer, as a hermit who works long hours in rl and is sometimes away from home for days at a time, it's an incredibly long process and to have it all stolen or smashed up is incredibly disheartening. Part of the many reasons I didn't just up and move was the time invested and the lack of time to then find somewhere else to live, another unclaimed cave system with resources and finaly to start all over again.

I get what you are trying to say but when you are in a village with others that process is far simpler, you already have your home and your stuff and village mates to help you raise your char back up, when all that you have has been gotten single handedly, has taken months and then it all gets destroyed it is literaly gutting and it's hard at the time to feel like doing it all again.

I, for one, don't enjoy the start of a new world, lol, I know lots of ppl do - I prefer mid-game, when I have an established base, have all I need and am simply just raising q and crafting or trading for better gear, this is also the time I can explore more, find projects, help newbies and get more actual 'playing' out of the game, at the start it's just about finding an area and grafting to build a base and become established.

Not everyone wants to be in a village, i've explained lots of times why I like hermitting so won't do again, lol, but it does make a difference when you have a mountain to climb totaly unassisted.

I was lucky in that I had a lot of support and that in itself was motivation enough, if you don't have that then it's fully understandable why people quit.
Saying that though, I do love this game and would have returned anyway at some point, but I certainly understand when others call it a day.

Maybe people's goals are their attachment to the survival and growth of their hearthlings? Not everyone plays this as a cold-war RTS game.

Well, thanks for explaining that having high Q is the goal for many people.
My goal was always just playing. Meeting new people, making allies, making enemies, raising Q was just a side-quest. if I lost my Q, my char, etc. I would still be able to make friends, allies and enemies.

As usual, Forrest says it best. That was sure one wise person for being mentally handicapped.
