I tried to build trading post village with my friend a while ago and we get agreement with all bigger powers from HnH world. It was official on skype conference. But then one stupid russian "Karl Dönitz" came by and shit hit the fan. Friend lost 2 characters and this crazy stupid russian destroyed half of the progress we made already...

It's just not worth doing anything unless you are a part of really really strong village than can in practice destroy anyone and have almost unlimited resources.

If not, just forget idea about that... there will always be some crazy stupid people willing to destroy your work just for the kick and mere pleasure out of it.

If we're to have a single Shop Owner Arrival Zone, then that area can potentially become disastrously harmful to all incoming traders and halt trade.

I feel the risk of a compromised area should be distributed across all the cells. Cells will still be gated and prevent malicious players from moving beyond the Shop Cell.

----
In either event that a Distributed Risk Model is adopted or all the eggs are placed in one basket, the below security measure should be considered:

If a village is compromised, it should be the mission of Trade Hub Authorities to destroy the idol of the compromised village to disable the Crossroad, in the event that a Cell Owning Village should become breached and abandoned. To that end, players/villages registering for ownership of a Shop Cell should provide Eemerald, or a trusted other Hub Authority, with the location of their Connecting Crossroad so that appropriate restoration of the Shop Cell can be made in the event it is compromised.

(The above does not need to take place or become common practice, if the Crossroad Structure can be destroyed/disabled without breaking or securing its attached village idol.)

I will adress other points later, but i think an idea ramones suggested to me is to have seperate cr for each trade town, if they are compromised then we remove their cr. but no cr inside, just between the walls.

We all know that the community by the most part consist of total idiots, so don't expect the structuce to last long.

Especially if it's so big to hold "all" the traders inside, then it's vulnerable to rams from idiots that have nothing better to do than to destroy peace in H&H.

You have my blessing for this, but no idea how I may help there.

Best of luck to you.

I dont want it to become overly complex, but we will see !

The possibility if someone messing it up is possible which is why im trying to keep it as safe as possible for all parties, andcreally all im asking from people is to cobtribute time and ideas, not their mains or materials etc.

Im also trying to involve everyone i can, ppls involvèment is good to create the community aspect and also will reduce desire to see it fail if theres sime investment in it. Eutherway no one is forced to contribute, if they think its a failed project, fair enough. But for those who are bored, want to so something in a group, abd dedicate some time into this project, it might get sone interest for them in the game, at least thats what im getting from people who have cobtacted me so far.

My idea for this project:
Make one box with a mansion inside which is brickwalled with a gate. Give the head guard at the time (Likely a member of Em City) the key to that gate incase of emergencies. Each village will have a spot to place barter stands as it was last world inside of the main bw'd box. Outside this central trade area will be a series of small boxes with a gate leading into the main area. This box will have a cr in the centre and will be a village specific port. For example: A Lake Olympus crossroad.

The box can then be opened at a set time for village members to put their wares on the stall, or to purchase from other stalls.

I feel like this would be the best way to avoid random ganks and theft while at the same time giving people full access to the stalls. The problem that I see with individual BWs is that you don't get the chance to browse all of the wares if a person is not online to open it at the time.

The setup:
Image
Black dots = crossroads
Black outline = BW
Grey line = gates
Small black boxes inside = barter stands (can fill the whole inner area, I just got lazy)
Grey Box = security mansion to flee into should archers/a ganksquad port in on guards

Having a Traders Hub open for different traders is game politics and village relations so don't worry - it's not just
plans for a village
- I'm sorry for you if you can't see the bigger aspects of it ;)

Also for those traders not online whn trading happens they can opt to have their cell opened by us, or simply stay closed if they feel better about it that way.

This sounds like an awesome idea! I'd be willing to help guard it if its needed (plus being where I am is super boring).
As for location, what about the nuked part of the map? As far as I'm aware, there are no rivers, lakes, cliffs, etc, that would screw up the plan. It would be a great place to make something like this. That or on one of the new supergrids. My village is in one, and there's barely anyone around that could bother the construction/trading other than hermits.
